Police department trade in Smith and Wesson Model 64 38 Spl stainless steel revolvers. All of these appear to be 64-3 or 64-5. Pistols have rubber grips. Grips may be S&W, Pachmayr or Hogue. Pistols will show normal wear from duty use.
This is a USED gun.

Benjamin, this deal is expired, you can’t buy them here anymore. These guns were as described, 38 Special, as are all model 64 revolvers. Research on google and other sites is preferable to asking a question on a deal forum.
Rule of thumb is not to shoot 357 out of something labeled .38. However, pretty much any 357 will eat 38 all day.
I have two of Model 64s purchased from a local gun dealer. I paid about $400 each. They were police turn-ins. Very nice revolvers. Highly recommended.
Are they just 38 Spl or can they take 357 also?
