That green Z is so ugly, anytime I see a green Z I feel compelled to paint it over. If it was a blue Z that would be OK.
My friend shot my dedicated CMMG 4.5" dedicated 22 LR AR Pistol this past weekend with this optic on it and loved it. He does not shoot very often so he was impressed and commented "man, this thing hits right where you aim" while shooting at steel plates ranging from 10" to 2" from 50+ yards. I really like the dot options and it really works great on this pistol.
This is a good optic for the $- I took the shroud off by removing a few screws and painted it FDE.
That's not a bad idea, I might try that this weekend!

I'm just trying to find out why a green Z elicits such insecurity and fear amongst these hardened military rifleman. I bought one, it looks fine, it shoots fine and all the other little girls that I shoot with don't make fun of me for having it. I keep it on the rifle upstairs to protect myself until I can dig up all of my guns and ammunition that I've buried all around the yard for when the zombies come.
I wish Academy would offer another $10 off deal and bring these to $35.99 again. I'm by another in a heartbeat.
Why the need for a red dot? Can’t you just paint a red dot on the front sight post and use that painted red dot instead? LOL

Because you would still have to line it up with the rear sight, a red dot sight is stand alone and does not have to line up with another sight to be accurate. Also while shooting with a red dot you keep both eyes open, where as most people close one for iron sights.

Great product and this was the best 44 bucks I have ever spent.
I picked up one for $35 put it on my cmmg 4.5 in 22 long rifle dedicated upper. Sighted it in at 50 yards this past weekend and it works great. Don't care much for the green zombie on the top but doesn't bother me too much.
I have had this sight 3 or 4 years now, bought a refurbished one & had to send it back twice & then get a refund. Purchased a new sight & it has worked good ever since.
Using it on a Spikes tactical AR22 , holds zero even after removed & put back on. The green retical is very visible, even in bright daylight.
Someone said the throw lever was plastic? Might be now, mine is aluminum.

Bought one about a month and a half ago and sent it back 15 minutes after it arrived. The quick detach is made of a cheap plastic handle with no way of tightening it anymore than it already comes. Put it on my AR and had almost a 1/4 of play front to back and it was sloppy as hell. If it would have been tight I would have kept it. Glass was super clear and crisp. Looked good. Just wouldn't tighten up.
You could have tightened the quick detach mechanism if you....RTFM.

When I received the sight it was the only thing in the box. There was no allen key, directions or any other paperwork. So that being one of the main reasons I didn't keep it. Im sure if I googled it or even went on YouTube I would've found the proper way to tighten it but I sent it back instead thinkin it was probably used. So instead of being a cocksucker like I've seen on damn near everything you post, why don't you do something worth a fuck with your time and punch yourself in the nuts! Assuming you don't have a pussy between your legs you rude fuckin asshat.

So basically what you're saying is it's a manufacturer's fault you received an open box item? I youtube just about everything. Wife just bought a new car and the oil change was coming up last week. Found out how to remove the plastic skidplate which is a PITA. And the daughter's alternator went out on her MINI. Youtubed that as well. Saved her a 200 mile tow bill (to the closest dealer) and got it done for about $200. Dealer wanted $1200 due to having to remove the entire front of the car to get to the alternator. Runs like a champ now. My 2003 Dodge Ram has never been in the shop thanks to Youtube. And easily saved me $4000-$5000 as well.

Grabbed one for my HK 416 replica in 22LR (best 22LR BTW eats all 22LR ammo and functions flawlessly without cleaning probably the best 22LR ever made) anyways back to this less than $50 shipped and works great glad I picked one up no regrets here.
