Not the best out there, but pretty good for the money.

At $299 this is a steal.

Do these work on the same principal as the military type night vision? I've seen alot of "Chinese crap" online claiming night vision when in fact it's more of an illusion with green lenses. I am interested in this but wanna hear some user reviews and opinions

No: military NV is all analog electron-cascade tubes; this is a digital NV [CMOS camera-based, just like in your phone or laptop or...] This does nothing for you in actual darkness; you have to have an IR illuminator [fancy words for "a flashlight"] to provide something for this to pick up: it doesn't have even as much low-light sensitivity as the old Eyeball, Mark 1 Mod 0, it just has the ability to utilize a broader spectrum [from infra-red all the way thru ultraviolet] vs. our own rather narrow spectrum of visual acuity.

These are really good for the money; if there is any moonlight at all I can easily see coyotes at 300 yards.

I've owned one for a few months and have nothing but good things to say. I bought an extra illuminator for reaching out further but the I find myself only using the low setting on the built in unit as that is plenty of light with unit on setting 3-5. I forget my zero setting but they are listed on my amazon review.

the PHOTON50 code doesn't work but in checkout a $20 discount is deducted.

Got one of these from Sportsmans Guide last week. Didn't focus right. Hope others have better luck. Returned today. I started buying all my optics from them or Brownells due to their return policy even if it's a little more money. Essentially, it's like getting a lifetime warranty.

Yes, but the original post said total after coupon was 328.24.... Now after coupon and additional 20.00 is 349.21 Was just stating that the price went up. Now it is reflecting the price increase (good deal still) but not quite the deal it was yesterday.
