Will this fit the optic cut on an x five?

Springer Percision makes a plate that will let this attach to the X-five and X-Carry. I'm debating which way to go as we speak. A few people run this setup in competition.

I've already seen one Leupold DPP come off a Springer plate on an X5 and put a big old bloody gash in the owners forehead. The mount stayed on the slide which has larger screws, but the optic tore both screws right out of the plate. It's not hard to see why, they only have about 1/16" of engagement, the plate is soft aluminum, and the mount screws are TINY. There's a reason every serious company (FN, CZ, Glock, etc.) that makes optic plates, makes them out of steel. You get so little thread depth of engagement, and usually very small screws that a thin Aluminum plate is just asking for problems with a heavier optic like the DDP or Romeo 3 on a reciprocating slide.

Milkmandan this optic is more for an A/R type platform. You need the Romeo 1 for the x5. Simply remove plate and it will bolt on in existing holes. This Romeo 3 is bigger than the Romeo 1

Wow did not knew that OP will price match. I am planning it on a 9mm AR..

Yep they will, as in this case, even if they can't fully match the price they usually offer a price that's close. The other thing you can do is the "deal alert" it looks like you setting a price you want at OP if the price drops below. However, they often will contact you and offer you the price you enter or one close. It's almost like a "best offer" or price match without having to provide a competitor link etc.

Sorry,
Got to disagree, ...got mine and I posted a review on PSA sight. PSA ship them in a UPS box with heavy filling , so there is no way you will be getting a banged up Sight... You're right that it comes itself in a plastic bag n sight got a sturdy rubber mount with battery and 2 Allen wrench( for sight n lock) n owners manual...

It is made is Japan n feels like a little Tank, its heavy duty in a package , the dot is bright n crisp .... so I believe its worth the money though haven't mounted it yet ...

Seems to depend on who shipped them and what else you ordered. Mine was just tossed loose in a white padded envelope, no box, no extra padding. The big issue to me is just to make people aware that it does not have the low/rail mount as a retail unit would as there are other places selling the retail unit with the mount for under $300. In fact Optics Planet will price match down to $270, for a retail unit, in the box, with all accessories.

Just a heads up on the $250 clearance. So these are OEM Romeo 3's. As such they are just in a black Sig plastic parts bag with a battery, manual and optic already mounted on the high rise mount with the cover on, and that is it. They are not packaged like the "retail" Romeo 3 where you get the flat rail mount, the high rise mount, box, etc.

If you don't need/want the low rise rail mount it's a good deal. Unfortunately I asked Palmetto's CS in advance and they stated it would come with both mounts so just a heads up it does not. It's also a little concerning to me they just throw these in plastic bags and ship them out as opposed to them being in a box. No doubt they take a lot more abuse both shipping to the dealer, and to the customer.

Great optic with a large window. The only thing I don't like is the graphite color which makes it stick on matte black or nitride uppers/barrels. This price is pretty good for it though.
