Can you replace the grip panels, or are they now integral, as on the SP2022?
When did Sig make this change to the P22x pistols?
Similar to the 2022. Can be changed but it's more than just the grip panels. Can't remember the details now because I decided on a 226 MK25.
Not a bad deal, especially for Cabelas. If you don't absolutely have to have a rail, however, Guns Midwest has the P229 Classic Carry in 9mm for $667. Also comes with night sights. Also has the sweet short reset trigger (it appears this one from Cabelas does not), real nice G10 grips, and the elite slide with forward serrations. Comes with three mags. They are the 13 rounders, but Mecgar makes 15rd version that works great for a decent price. I got one back when they were $599, which was an incredible price, but $667 is still fantastic considering the features and the fact it's a Sig. Great carry weapon. Just food for thought if you are considering this deal and don't need a rail.
I haven’t picked it up yet but just got the classic carry for $600 at GMW. What is the upc for the Mec-Gar 15 round mag that fit it? Does it seat flush or hang out ?butt?
Decent price for a new 229 in 9mm with Night Sights. Order online and pickup in store, I don't think Cabela's charges a transfer fee (but local jurisdiction may impose fees...YMMV).
You'll have to go to a store to get this. They don't ship these guns. So it's price plus tax.
