Nitron Stainless Steel Slide
A stainless steel slide coated in Nitron resists wear and corrosion.

The P226 is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. Designed as SIG's entrant in the military trials to replace the 1911, today the P226 is in use by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Michigan State Police to name a few. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this full-size pistol easy to handle. Its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy.

I have a 226 in .40. I already have the drop-in .357 Sig barrel for it.

I can't seem to find the 9mm Caliber X-Change Kit for it any more. Is that item still available, or is it just a little hard to come by?

True, but if one is comfortable doing the work themselves the parts can be obtained for $50.

Wait to purchase, with an unpopular caliber and no price guarantee , for even 3 days not worth jumping in.

This isnt even a real "elite" model.. just something the shoemakers at Sig slapped together with some "elite" labeled slides they had over run no doubt.

No SRT trigger, no checkering anywhere, no beavertail... how is this an elite again? Oh yeah.. its not.

True, but for $599 + $20 shipping it's still a great deal for what you get. Night sights, real nice grips, and 3 extended mags? Not bad really. An SRT can be had for ~$50. Add in ~$20 for FFL transfer. So less than $700 OTD if one buys the SRT. No beavertail, but if that isn't a must (and it's not for many), it's a great deal.

Just fyi, sending this into Sig for the SRT will cost you way more than $50 between the SRT itself and shipping.

Same here ... TX taxes throws the deal off

649 + 54 + 20 + 30 = 753 (cost+taxes+shipping+FFL)

Dude I got a case and two 15round mags and the new sig Sauer p320 9mm for the exact price of 675 at my ffl dealer it even came with a holster . I wouldn't pay 599.99 for this huge ripoff.

Doesn't even come close to a P226, in any caliber. Good for you though!
