The SIG SAUER® P226® is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this fullsize pistol easy to handle. Its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy. The P226 MK25 is identical to the pistol carried by the U.S. Navy SEALs-the fleet’s special warfare operators. The railed P226 chambered in 9mm and engraved with an anchor on the left side of the slide is the official sidearm of the SEALs.

Specifications are subject to change.

Bought this pistol, little pricey and the engraved anchor is a bit on the cheese side but Navy guys like it that way ; )

Great pistol at a great price. Only a fool would pass this up even with Bud's "cc" fees and bad service.

This is a good price on this pistol. I sent mine to Sig for the SRT and AEP and it's the best pistol I've ever shot.

SRT is for trigger work? What is the AEP? Could you give me a ballpark figure on that cost? I have a P-226 Navy Desert.

The MK25 comes as they give it to the SEALS, no short reset trigger (normal one). I like the SRT better, so it was installed. The AEP is where they polish the feed ramp and work on the action to reduce the trigger weight slightly for both DA and SA, and make it smoother. I also have a P229 Legion and this pistol, with the AEP and SRT, is much better. I think I'm going to send in my Legion to get the AEP as well. The SRT is sub-$100 and the AEP is $175 I think. If you go to Sig's website and look up the custom shop they have instructions/prices. Call in and ask for 10% off and they'll likely give it to you.

If you're not in a hurry, sign up for their email and they have sales throughout the year. Seems like around Father's Day is usually a good one. They'll run free VIP shipping ($55 saved) if you spend $250, percentages off various work packages, etc.

I agree on the AEP being better than the Legion factory trigger. It's equally smooth and roughly 2 lbs lighter in DA, while retaining enough weight to be reliable and to meet my department's requirements for trigger weight for a duty gun. I've carried a classic P series, currently the P226, for years.

Thank you for the info. Nice getting feedback and info from fellow gun lovers. The responsibility of owning a gun is not just owning it, but shooting it much and getting to know as much as you can. Thanks again for sharing. My Navy Sig 226 is the best shooting pistol of all my pistols. But the trigger on my Desert Eagle 1911 45 is perhaps the hairiest of them all.

I have the Navy Desert. Best gun I ever shot. Perfection.

Navy Desert is sort of like Jumbo Shrimp isn't it? Not a Glock fanboy, just being a smartarse. New G17 being fixed cause Perfection was really perfection. Honest I don't have a P226 or P229 in my collection, I can honestly related to the anchor having had a few on me for a number of years for work.

Navy Desert is a very very nice weapon. The same one used by Navy Seals. Says it all,,,,doesn't it? I don't think they are jumbo shrimp either.

Buds always puts make offer on every gun, and everyone I ve made offers on, right almost what they're asking, never are excepted. Maybe someone else has better luck with buds " make an offer".

Is it true when you open the case it ships with, IN THE NAVY by The Village People plays?

The price match is just a fancy way to get around the MAP?

0 votes
0 votes

Don't know about MAP. As far as when you open the case... no Village People. Anchors Away starts to play and the smell of the ocean fills the room. Keep it open too long and you'll start to find sand in weird places. Interestingly, the gun operates much better if you use the word "head" instead of restroom, "bulkhead" instead of wall, and "rack" instead of bed. There are other Naval terms that can only increase it's operationalabilityness.

Seriously though, had mine over a year... got the SRT installed and had Sig perform the AEP. I'm sure there are better pistols out there, but I have yet to shoot them.

Can you recommend any good places to get 100 feet waterline or a bucket of steam, a BT Punch, been hit on a Zoner lately? Nonskid, good stuff, ladderbacks too. LOOK IT'S A GU-11!!! Haze Gray and Underway.....

Worst thing over the 1MC, FLOODING FLOODING FLOODING, 08 level I think, LOL, then hearing it's the equipment room that belongs to the division you're on the CVN to train. On a certain old flagship in the Med, telling the ship company to get inside before the washdown system sprayed us down. They laughed, said stand here your feet won't even get wet. Ears popping from morons not closing one door before the other was opened on an Always Broke DDG with their positive pressure system operating.

Off to seek meds for the flashbacks this and your post have caused. I may have spent a few minutes in Uncle Sammy's Yacht Club.

So who do you list as the other website to get the price match to work?

I bought the desert colored one from BUDS. I type in a company that was listed on slick guns. Buds offered a price just a few dollars higher than the low price I offered. They have free shipping, so that offset the few dollars.

Anything you want - they don't check. "Bubba and son big bad guns" will work.

Dealer cost is driven by the number of units a particular dealer moves, so it varies. I'm sure organizations like Bud's, firearmsforsale, etc. do pay markedly less because of their volume. My FFL's cost on this one is actually right at $864., which is what this reseller has listed as regular price. Sig Sauer's Military and Law Enforcement (IOP) price/info is $851 798681439836 WMK25 MK25, Black Nitron, Phos. Components, Anchor Engraving, SLITE, UID, 1913 Mil-Std Rail, (3) 15rd Magazines MSRP $1,166.00 IOP MAP $851.00. I picked up my standard P226 for $575 new, so if night sights, the engraved anchor, rust prev. coating or just the "cool factor" they've added are worth the extra $200 to you it's a good deal.

Where did you find a 226 for $575? That's a hell of a deal.

0 votes
0 votes

They appeared one afternoon on PSA's site; both .40 and 9mm, and they sold out VERY quickly. I mis-spoke though, it was $599 not $575, but still one hell of a deal! In fact, they had both the 226 and 229 for the same price that day, so I bought both. I haven't seen them on there since...

The dealer's cost is lower than 700$, wait for their dropping price again.

0 votes
0 votes

That dealers cost might be lower. I have several wholesale accounts and I can't get it for that!

Great gun, it also has the SRT. But for the money buy the M11 IMHO. Has the SRT and short reach trigger. They can keep the fairly useless rail.

The mk25 does not come with the SRT...

Wow the M11 is the easy choice then.

Pretty good price. Just so everyone here is clear, the gun they posted as the first picture in the deal is not an MK25, the other pictures are the gun you would actually be getting.

LOL remember when these were going for like 1200-1300 bucks.

0 votes
0 votes

Yeah, and remember at that same time when the sucker club was justifying those moronic prices because they thought seals actually carried them or that they might be worth more due to them being limited production?.. What was that $1200 MK23 buyers? Crickets???

Truth is they're neither carried by seals or limited, in fact there's apparently so many they're apparently collecting dust by not selling.

This is what happens when the sucker club keeps their money in their wallets. Prices drop. Works on ammo too.

Cool anchor though.

If this is not what the SEALs carry, what do they carry?

0 votes

I paid $799 shipped 7 months ago. It is a solid gun that shoots great. Do seals actually use them? I really don't care.

0 votes
0 votes

That's cool. A guy at my club got one for $799 too. I shot it. Fit and finish superb, built like a tank. To spare any siggers sensitive feelings, I'll say it was average at best. It shoots straight but is heavy and Sig triggers have the mushy consistency of a dogs day old feces... Responsible dog owners know what I'm talkin' about... When you pick up after your dog, that feeling, that's a sig trigger, just longer and a touch firmer, but still like shit.

I'll also add that this particular guy is the kind of chode that paints in the alphanumericals on his guns with a paint pen... When asked if he was gonna remove the douchy little sticker on the side, he said "No,I don't wanna ruin the resale value" He's pretty tactical.

I then smiled, much like I'm smiling now.

Just so we are all clear... Please let us know an example or two of a mid priced factory pistol with better trigger.

CZ PO-7 and 9 are worlds better than Sig triggers.

And a late-model Ruger SR9 for the best budget trigger off the line (and a Rocket drop-in if you want slicker).

Glock and Walther P99 or PPQ. IMO Walther has the best out of the box trigger PERIOD. Out of the metal frame guns, Walther P88 and Browning High Power. Not a big fan of Sig or H&K. Unjustifiably expensive. For what they charge, it should come with an alibi and an attorney.

Glock, or H&K V1 LEM, 4.5 lb trigger

Jokes aside, the gun is legit. I typically like polymer frame guns are compact 1911-style. However, this thing is built to swim in the ocean, then roll in the sand, get run over by a tank and then save your life. It's a dope gun and it's also pretty, so it would be a shame if that happened. A friend got back from Kabul and carried the clone of this model as a side-arm. Bullet-proof...literally.

Respect for Sigs.

I bought the desert color one. Best pistol I have ever shot. I have H&Ks, CZs, Desert Eagles, Rugers, and Smith&Wesson all FINE guns, but this 226 is something else.

I got mine......you want one too ? First off, a 226 is this price or more.......so why would you not pay $809 for a limited addition Gun that will increase its value over time instead of lose it?

A limited addition engraved MK25 with internal Salt Water coating for $809, or a standard 226 for $900......hmmm, tough call.

I was just messing with you guys, it makes sense... but I looked at the website and looks pretty much identical to the the standard model. They advertise "a longer barrel" but its the same as standard and where did you hear about a salt water coating?

I've never fired a Sig I liked. Too bulky for my preference and I think the triggers are garbage... Not to mention overpriced IMO. Some people rave about them, just not for me. I was just poking some fun at the anchor... If they were only pumping out 500 or so I might think about one, unfired, for collector value... but I doubt it's very limited at all.

edit: just read "anti corrosion coatings on controls and internal components" Yeah, Since I'm not A SEAL and my license to kill was just revoked, I have no need to pay for that. G26 check good. That anchor is still pretty sweet though.

Yeah, I am not a fan of their trigger, but they offer a changeout of the trigger. Recently I was shooting my 1911 for maybe 100-200 rounds and when I ran out of ammo, I picked up my MK25 and it took at least a magazine to get it dialed in. The trigger feels mushy and sloppy compared to even a basic 1911. I agree with you there. The one thing about the Sig, is its reliability. I have a Sig Pro 9mm SP2022 and it has probably 5.000 rounds through it without a single failure. The thing looks ragged and worn to shit but it just keeps shooting. I shoot steel, brass, FMJ, and HP and even +p (shouldn't) and it just keeps going.

And yeah, the coating is useless on the MK25. It is essentially a glorified 226.....but its a cool part of my collection. I Sold my MK23, and hated myself afterward....so I really just got this to make up for selling my MK23......LOL

I will take the coating,,, and won't bitch about it.
