The SIG Sauer MCX Virtus Patrol provides reliable semi-automatic operation through the use of a gas-piston system. Each rifle is equipped with a cold-hammer-forged barrel, which is surrounded by a free-float handguard that can be customized with all standard M-LOK accessory attachments.

The Virtus has a long handguard over the original MCX - everything else is the same. Not sure how that made it $600 more but ultimately would go with a standard MCX and do an aftermarket handguard. Especially if you can find an original MCX with the parts Sig Sauer stopped shipping with the rifle before raising the price a few hundred. This included flip up sights, strap, and some other stuff.
