The MCX Rattler PSB is a semi-auto pistol variant of Sig Sauer’s select-fire MCX Rattler SBR fitted with a Sig Brace. These pistol features make the PSB easier for the civilian to own without a long wait for NFA paperwork. Otherwise, the PSB offers all the strengths of the original MCX Rattler, including rifle-caliber .300 AAC Blackout punch and the ever-familiar AR-15 operating system in a slim, ULTRA-COMPACT package that’s easy to deploy quickly.
Built around Sig’s proven gas piston action, the MCX Rattler PSB doesn’t need a buffer tube, which contributes to its diminutive size. I'll be the 1 to 28 thumbs up vote for that comment. I have a few MCX models and generally like them but have seen the prices skyrocket w/ little perceived value over the earlier generations. Generally the shorter the barrel the higher the price. I wondered where they came up with the "rattler" designation and wondered if it's because of the upper and lower eventually developing a rattle as the round count increases. I know there are many loyal Sig people and I am a fan of their products but the price increases are unreal - not to mention they've stripped just about every possible accessory they can as of Jan 2017 - including flip-up sights, slings, QD attachments, etc.
I won't even get into the promised caliber options that never materialize and how many Sig rifles have carried that claim and are soon discontinued. The MCX is a decent platform but hardly worth the money as you can get a superior setup for much less.

Ad must have changed. I also got 10% off the price of the Rattler. Net was something like $2170 plus the gift card of $150.
Wow. I don't get it. You can build a real SBR, stamp included for so much less. Something waaay better looking than this, I mean let's face it, you're not getting $2400 worth of materials or performance here, especially from a 5" barrel, so it's obviously about looks.
Can we just call it what it is? An expensive and grossly profitable manufatures option to skirt the NFA tax with a so called "arm brace" (that no one uses as intended or described) to quickly get the cool factor without waiting. Notice I said waiting and not paying because Sig is TAXING THAT ASS way more than any $200 stamp. Some may justify it as "cool factor" but what's cool about spending more for an imitation, a so called "loophole" SBR... LOL. Again, I just don't get it.
Nah, I'd rather wait my 6 months and build the real deal for about a $1000 less but I guess I'm old school. Hell, for the same $2400 you could build an authentic SBR, suppress it and that's including the two stamps to make it all legit.
