I just got a SP2022 and I have to say I do not like it. It's my first hammer fired semi-auto so maybe that's the issue. I like striker fired semi-autos. A lot of reviews raved about the amazing trigger. I thought the trigger was awful. I installed a Hannibal adjustable trigger and that did bring it up to just ok but I still don't like the gun as a whole. Trying to sell it a week after buying.

Another weak shooter who can't shoot worth a shit w/o using a trigger as a crutch.

Poor little guy can't handle an opinion that in no way affects him. It's ok son, go back to your mommy's arms and you'll be safe again.

I can't understand why anyone would spend this much on this gun when you can get real-deal P-Series guns for sub $450 in EXCELLENT condition. Having owned both, there is NO comparison. The SP2022 is a solid "meh". Plenty of better hammer fired, plastic framed 9mm's for at least one hundred $ less.

On here it says it jas night sights, but when u go to RK website NS are not in the description, does it have NS or not?

One of my favorite handguns, very accurate , good ergonomics, reliable and simple. Only down side is smaller capacity mags (15 or the rare 17) and the cost of the mags. Great carry and defensive gun. Nofirchoice of competition

The 2022 really is a sweet shooter for the money. A solid hammer fired polymer gun.

I also had a problem with the two mag and bag promotion but it was with the rebate company. Once I called Sig Sauer customer service they took care of me right away and instead of two fifteen round mags and a bag I got three seventeen round magazines. My only complaint is the time it took other then that great customer service.

Same here, I got 3 magazines and a 25% off coupon code for the sig store. Unlike the Smith and Wesson rebate I've been waiting on for a year. SIG customer service was top notch.

I am glad you got yours, but there are many of us that Sig Sauer defrauded and lied too. By the way, Smith and Wesson honored their $100 rebates (both of them) very quickly. I have been waiting for my Sig Sauer magazines since Oct 17. My Brother also has not received his. And Sig Sauer does not bother to reply or answer any emails that I have sent them. I will never buy another gun from them.

I'm glad you got your Smith and Wesson rebate, many people did not, myself included and Smith and Wesson has about the worst customer service in the industry today. I'll take my SIG's over the SW any day of the week.

All Sig Sauer had to do was at least answer my inquiries and maybe, just maybe honor their promise of the 2 magazines and a pistol bag. My Brother did not receive his. Several people have already commented that Sig also did them wrong. I use to hold Sig to great respect, but now I don't. The more we comment the more Sig is exposed. The Sig P-238 shot half the time. It would have been al lot wiser for Sig to just honor their promise to their customers. Just because you did not receive your rebate from Smith does not make it right or ok for Sig to defraud its many customers. Perhaps a class action lawsuit is needed against Sig Sauer. There are many customers that did not receive their rebates.

I and many many others feel exactly the same about Smith and Wesson. But I digress, I've got better things to do with my time.

THEN WHY ARE YOU WASTING YOUR TIME HERE?

I am glad that you were took care of. Sig Sauer has not contacted me or answered my many emails to corporate office. The lady on the phone pretty much said it was my tough luck. I know life is not fair and I can deal with it. But I am telling my story so others know that Sig Sauer does not care about their customers. My Sig 238 did have many problems. It would shoot sometimes, then other times it would not shoot. There are many other guns much better at a better price.

Don't buy from RK guns. They stiffed a bunch of us that ordered a rifle that was on sale, they didn't have the product to fulfill the orders.

RK is a good gun store.

Sig never honored my 2017 rebate. It makes me think twice about buying another sig.

Thanks for the reply 777chic. I am glad that other people are commenting about this. It is only 2 magazines and a pistol bag, but it is the principle of the thing. I believe since Sig Sauer got that military contract, then the customers doesn't matter anymore. Sig Sauer is treating it's customers like a sh**hole country. I have gotten rid of all my Sig Sauers and replaced them with Dan Wessons, Walthers, H&K, and Smiths. It will come back to haunt Sig Sauer one day. Maybe a class action law suit is in order.

Just called Sig and gave them the MPN and this does not come with Night Sights. You can purchase them online for 72.00 according to the service rep.

With the nite sites this would be a Great deal. Without them? A decent deal, but I'd wait for black Friday, these pop up in different configurations often. I got mine a few years back with standard sights, SIG laser kit & holster for $379 shipped from KYGUNCO. ;)

I just called and verified that this one does not come with night sites. Strange however that the Sig website indicates that all the SP2022 FDE models do come with night sites.

Description clearly states Siglite nights. What's the deal?

Sig Sauer does not honor any of its information or products anymore, since they got that must-million dollar military contract. The guns are crap anyway. They also defrauded many of their customers on the 2017 rebate program of 2 extra mags. and pistol bags.

Sig Sauer has has defrauded my Brother and I out of our rebate in 2017. I have read many comments say that other people have been cheated out of their rebate 2017 rewards also. I have contacted Sig many times and they have not returned any calls or emails.

SP2022 is underrated. I've had the .40 version of this for a couple of years, and you couldn't ask for anything at this price that shoots this accurately and reliably.

You 9mm guys are lucky. There are Sig-branded Mec-Gar mags for it with a 17 round capacity.

You can also buy the Sig Caliber X-Change kits to convert it to .22 LR, .357 Sig or .40 S&W. I have the .40, so I can just buy a drop-in barrel for .357 Sig.

My only quibble about this deal is that sometimes Bud's runs them for $366.

I've got the duo tone 9mm version of this gun. It is in my experience, an awesome pistol for the money. Gregcotellc.com carries the MecGar 17 round mags for this gun at a very good price. ;)

did yours come with night sights? I'm pretty sure it's standard on this model, yet no information on it.

Looked at the reviews on the website. Nobody mentions night sights. So probably not.

Are night sights included? The picture shows them, but there is nothing in the description.

Don't forget to get some Mec-Gar mags with your new SP2022!
If you're looking for a light, I'd also recommend the Streamlight TLR-3. It's great light and fits flush with the barrel.

Can you recommend a good bayonet for this gun?

I love mine! The finish has held up even with constant holstering and carrying over the last year. The sig night sights are excellent and very bright. The combat style sights make it easy even for a novice or beginner shooter to be accurate from self defense distances. I recommend this firearm to people who want their first home defense pistol all the time. I've fired around 500 rounds so far through mine with no failures or problems. Got it back during the sig mag rebate deal for around the same price. This is still a great deal and the best priced polymer DA/SA on the market IMO. If you don't own a Sig yet this is a great entry level sig. I actually enjoy this one more than the 226 for some reason.

I just ordered mine from Buds. I actually opted for the one with a FDE grip. It was listed for about $470. Buds accepted my offer for $451. I think it looks better completely in FDE. I cant wait to get it!

Does this come with a black grip only or does it come with a flat dark earth one also?

Black only

Mine came with 2 black grips - one small and one medium (I think). No FDE grips, but 2 magazines, and a paddle holster.

Got mine today. Came with a paddle holster, 2 magazines, and an extra grip. I was surprised about the 2nd magazine and holster.

Hello Pushinglead, I am on your side on this one! I was wondering though in your last post you said that if you were in high risk situations you would carry one in the pipe, and it wouldn't be this gun! Can I ask what gun would be your gun of choice?

1 vote
0 votes

It would be with a higher quality sig 1911 or remington, or colt....all steel, and as my backup. My main gun would be my 357 snub nose model 19 revolver, no ftf or fte issues to worry about...ever. Just the limited capacity.

Which would you guys recommend the 40 or 9MM?

9mm. with modern ammo 40 is nearly obsolete. I still like the caliber in a fun gun but for a "working" ie defense gun nine is a better choice IMHO. Just make sure your loading it with top shelf ammo when it matters

If you don't mind reman'd ammo then 40 isn't much more expensive than 9mm. But if you insist on factory ammo then 9mm will be cheaper. 9mm HST or Gold Dots should suffice for a SD round.

For the size of the gun, I chose 40 since its bigger and hits harder. For a smaller carry, Im going 9mm on my next purchase....I have a full size 9 and a small 45 (xds) so thats another reason Im going small....may even go with a compact 1911 9mm. Im loving the 1911 platform (just getting into it).

This is a real nice shooter. I purchased the ss version (40) from PSA a while back for 369 with free shipping. I didnt even clean it, just removed the slide to look at how much lubrication was there. Ive put a couple hundred rounds through it since Im just breaking it in and not 1 ftf or fte (magtech ammo). Sights seem pretty spot on so far. I love the night sights but still put a streamlight tlr4 on it. Its my in house sidekick and sits with my other bedpost buddy while I sleep (S&W model 19 357 revolver).

guys, does it come with one mag and the other two are rec'd by rebate with the pistol bag?

Yup! Thats my take on it. I just purchased an extra mag last week for $32. They do come in handy when you're tired of pausing to reload.

In the buds description of the deal it says 2 mags. No mention of the rebate. I see it as a four mag total deal.
