Description
The SUPER-SHORTY is based on a Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun that came from the factory with a pistol grip. Because of this, the SUPER-SHORTY is considered an AOW (Any Other Weapon) and can be transferred with a $5 stamp! The gun holds three 2-3/4" or 3" shells in the magazine, plus one in the chamber. The overall length, 9" barrel and spring-locked foregrip, which pivots out of the way when not in use, make for a very compact package. As far as we know, this is the shortest 12-gauge pump shotgun available. All parts for the SUPER-SHORTY are made in-house on our own CNC machinery using materials ideally suited to the task. All welds are done by the TIG process, and the manganese phosphate finish is MIL-spec. The SUPER-SHORTY is currently being used by various law enforcement agencies and military units worldwide, and has appeared in movies, TV shows and video games. If you like the idea of concealed carry with a 12-gauge, or like a lot of "bang" in a small package, or just want the most compact breaching weapon available, then this is the gun for you. wow, hack off half of a standard 870 and then charge 3x what its worth? no bueno.... just ridiculous!
as a side note, What the hell is a $5 stamp? I may be ignorant but never heard of a $5 stamp to recieve a firearm?
It's because the ATF classifies these an "Any Other Weapon" under the National Firearms Act. While most NFA items require a $200 stamp to transfer, AOW's require a $5 stamp. Basically these Serbu Super Shorty's exist to be a workaround for people who want to own a short barreled shotgun, but live in a state which doesn't allow them but DOES allow AOW's. Off the top of my head I think Illinois is one such state. This is also why they charge such a premium for them, because they appeal to a very niche audience. If you live in a state that allows SBS' though, you're probably better off just getting the SBS stamp for an R870 and hacking the barrel off lol.
Yeah, basically a $300 shotgun with a few twists! I'm thinking people aren't lining up to buy. And without trying to overstate the obvious, when the current crisis goes away, if it does, buy what you need when it's not a crisis. And for those who don't know, this current series of crisis' are generated to try to steal the 2020 election. Hopefully, it won't work because of it does, like AG Barr said, we will be entering a very dark place!

Yeah, this is one of the those situations where supply and demand has gotten out of hand. There's not a high demand for NFA items due to what a pain in the ass they are, so they get away with quadrupling the base price. The problem is, if you want a compact shotgun, you can just get a bullpup 12 gauge for half this price. The 9" barrel Serbu is roughly 20 inches long. If you can spare 6 more inches you can have a full size shotgun with an 18.5 inch barrel, 5+ round magazine, and a stock if you go bullpup. Better yet, for still MUCH cheaper than this, if you wanted to go the NFA route, you could SBS that bullpup and lose those 6 inches while still having a far superior firearm.
