While I agree prices are climbing, I can also say I will take a higher end built Turkish 1911 for this price over a low end off the shelf Kimber that'll cost you in this price range. For one the Turks are now making some very high quality firearms in high tech, modern firearms manufacturing facilities and they take great pride in their work as well, and 2 since Kimber moved out of Oregon years ago, their quality has gone WAY down. Your buying a name only... Sorry to the Kimber fan club but it's true. They're not making all handbuilt, custom 1911's they were known for here in my state. Their manufacturing facility was 15 miles from my home here in southern Oregon..
these turkish gun makers are getting too greedy, they have iron balls to start charging kimber prices for their 1911 clones.
