  • I am SO glad I got the Tisas/sds instead of the RIA. There is NO other 45 of this quality anywhere near this price. The finish is a durable cerakote (looks like authentic parkerizing). The Barrel is VERY high quality. The whole gun is forged and tolerances are precise. It ships with two authentic looking mags The front sight is a hair taller than the RIA and is serrated, so I dremeled off the cerakote and painted the ramp for a good sight picture. The ONLY negative is that hammer bite happens. But this gun runs like a Swiss timepiece. It is also very accurate. If you want a budget 45, I can't recommend it enough.

I bought one a few months ago, same deal but for $319. Comes with 2 - 8rd mecgar mags not the 7rd it keeps showing (mine said 7rd as well then showed up with 2 - 8rds).

My 1st 1911 (16th pistol) .Gun runs good, it is the stiffest fricken gun I’ve ever shot. When racking the slide it kind of hangs up midway with a bit of resistance. Is that normal

    Cock the hammer back first.

Also I’m 6ft3 maybe 255 and meaty hands. I was gripping this gun maybe a bit too high I always grip high and tight.

The hammer chewed up my hand like a meat grinder. Should e opted for the no larger beaver tail

The reviews are very good on these Tisas... not a 45 guy but I am intrigued!

Its a tisas, its good to go. However I had a Turkish 1911 that wouldnt run because of a recoil spring that was too light for 230gr loads. swap it for 18.5 lbs and it will cycle all the big dick rounds. If you get a 1911 to shoot light loads just get a 9mm, ammo is cheaper.

I got one a few days ago, runs smooth, no failures w/Winchester white box, recoil is not bad just a good all around pistol. great start if you want a 45acp, or 1911

So this gun can be used with a can?, like it’s threaded? Or do u have to buy a threaded barrel?

You'll need to buy a threaded barrel.

This pistol runs, it’s got a little weight to it but overall it feels nice. The sights are nothing fancy, I was planning on changing them out for something more visible

Why do these sellers continually list guns by the importer's name and not the manufacturer's name? I don't care if a gun was imported by EAA, SDS, or CAI. This is a Tisas so call it that, don't call it a SDS. Duh..

I do get what you mean but the importer is also huge part of the process as they handle warranties, tech support, parts fulfillment. Some are notorious for stripping out extra mags / accessories / etc, not performing their own quality control process and so on. Then there are the importers who order special features or upgrades so the base pistol is the same however it might have an upgraded trigger or sights (rarely apples to apples)

I do agree though, knowing who made the gun is the first big piece.

Century Arms had basically turned the old Romanian WASR AKs into shit with the “modifications” they made to them…On the flip side, that same Century Arms imported the Canik TP9 line of pistols and basically left them alone, aside from adding that large engraving with their name on the slide.
