I honestly don't know the advantage of this vs the sba 3, unless you NEED the extra .75" in the longest position. It's a little bulkier and weighs 4oz more, so if you're going for a lightweight compact build stick with the 3.

I own both, and can tell you that they are significantly different feeling when shooting. Want a 'light as possible' pistol or just like the sba3 or the feel when shooting the sba3 is better, then get the sba3. Otherwise, I recommend the sba4. As far as weight, I find the balance of a firearm is more important than overall weight. Weight on the front of a firearm is terrible, but back not so much. 4 oz on the back end of an AR-style pistol is not only barely noticeable by generic feel, but may improve the feel and maneuverability. I know that pounds=pain, but look to remove weight from the front and not the back.

I too have both, and just generically see the sba3 as better for my circumstances. I've moved away from 556 on my pistols, and that's that one I feel the heft of the 4 buffers some of the thunk. The 3 is absolutely fine for 300blk, which is my preferred rifle cartridge now, and it's no challenge for pcc's. Another positive of the 4 could be if you absolutely had to have a 10" barrel with a vert grip, the collapsed length should get you to 26". Want shorter than that and you'll need the og sb15.

Now that the prices have evened out a bit I feel like they are more of an even comparison, but I'd still probably consider trading my 4 for another 3. I'll probably never buy another 4 unless it gets sub $100, which I have yet to see. As far as "solid" goes I'd say that's a bit of a qc thing, I only get them at shows and have definitely handled some that had way more wiggle, others needed some breaking in. With the murmurs coming out of the politicos I'd be hesitant to by any brace at them moment.

The solidness of the A4 compared to the A3 is the main benefit

I have one on my AK pistol and it feels more solid than some adjustable stocks out there

Might be time to pick one of these up .ATF is trying to rationalize banning braces apparently. This is one of the best.

I've seen rumors about this but nothing very definitive.

It’s only this model they are trying to reclassify do buyer beware as it may go the way of the bump stock.
