Can anyone tell me whether this pales in comparison to the TC 308? They're going for under 200 with rebate minus a scope but has a threaded barrel.
Mine came with a decent Weaver 3x9 with Weaver bases. Holds zero nice and worked good enough to take me deer last year at 173 yards.
I'm always dubious when the seller fails to mention the manufacturer of the optic.
These are good budget rifle combos. The scopes are Weaver 3x9 with Weaver bases and rings. The glass is actually one of the better optics I've received on a factory combo rifle. Holds zero well, crisp clear glass that works well in low light. Decent eye relief and precise adjustability for windage and elevation. The rifle itself is surprisingly accurate. Bolt is fairly smooth, in my opinion was much better than the mossberg or Ruger American that I was considering. Nice adjustable trigger down to 3lbs. Fit and finish is acceptable for a budget rifle. The only thing I wish was a bit better was the stock but that is always changeable in the future. It is a bit light and subject to deflection I would think. Overall again out of the 3 major budget combo players (mossberg, ruger, savage) This was my choice mainly due to smoothness of action and trigger, as well as overall accuracy. At this price you wouldn't go wrong. I did however purchase this rifle in 7mm-08 as the ballistics and lack of recoil were outstanding for what I hunt in my area.
