While this price is not the best deal, I can say the rifle itself is an excellent choice for a budget hunting rifle. I currently ise this rifle chambered in 7mm-08 as my primary deer hunting rifle. I have shot 4 bucks since purchasing it 5 years ago and have had zero problems. These rifles are well made, very reliable, and have great accuracy. I bought mine on a prehunting season sale for $299 with an included scope and sling.
It is a rifle I can throw in the truck, carry thru rain and heavily wooded areas and such without the worry of scratching it, etc. I simply keep it protected with some gun oil and wipe it down good at the seasons end. The 7mm-08 caliber has been such a great caliber as well. Prior to buying my rifle I had no real experience shooting the caliber but had been searching and researching a good alternative caliber to the usual calibers such as the usual like .308, 270, 7mm, 243, 30-06. I found several good articles and reviews about the 7mm-08 and bought one. The caliber shoots like a .243 but has the power of a 308. Plus the ballistics are crazy! The velocity, stopping power and unreal flat trajectory just makes it a great round. Never has any of my deer went more than a few yards. The BEST thing about it too is there always seems to be very little damage and loss of meat. It does what it needs to do and nothing more. For those curious the round is simply a . 308 casing with a 7mm bullet. They have a great variety of available bullet styles and grains making it very versatile as well. With the right round it makes a great predator round.
