Built on the legendary Model 110 action, the Cabela's®-exclusive Savage® 10T-SR Bolt-Action Rifle with Threaded Barrel is specifically designed to engage tactical targets at varying ranges, under high-stress situations. The Model 10T-SR comes with Savage's Accustock®, an injection molded, aluminum bedded synthetic stock that provides a stable platform for consistent accuracy. The stock features a checkered pistol grip, a rubber recoil pad, 3 QD sling studs, and a beavertail fore-end. The medium-contoured, carbon-steel barrel features 5R rifling, and a threaded muzzle. A factory-installed aluminum Picatinny rail provides a solid attachment point for optic sights; and an oversized bolt handle facilitates working the action when you're in a hurry, keeping your hand clear of optic sights. The Model 10T-SR Bolt-Action Rifle features Savage's AccuTrigger® that is fully adjustable to provide a light, clean, crisp break at the shooter's desired pull weight. I picked up a 24" .308 last November a couple weeks before Black Friday. It was just over $500 out the door. Savage was running a $100 rebate and I didn't own a bolt action rifle. This sucker is heavy alone before you put some glass on it so you're more than likely not going to want to carry this hunting if you're on foot. It easily shoots MOA for me and I'm not exactly the precision shooter. It ticked all the boxes for me, heavy barrel, nice trigger and an affordable price and a good reputation. It also works with Savage's 10rd box magazines. It's a good rifle for what you get, throw a scope on it and it's ready to go.

Wasn't this cheaper a while back maybe 1-2 years ago?

I think it was a bigger rebate plus SVM gift cards.

I Picked up this rifle in 6.5 creedmoor and it’s great. 5r rifling was perfect and it grouped sub moa at 100 meters with even the cheapest ammo. ELDX hornady 6.5 were in the same hole at 100. Took it out to 1000 and with the right holds it was consistently on target.

As for price, I grabbed a number of the discounted gift cards from eBay. I waited for it to be on sale and for the Savage rebate time. In addition to that I used my Cabela’s rewards for it as well so my out of pocket was less than $200 after the rebate.

Did you pick it up back in January when they had the $100 rebate?

If 5R rifling is one of the reasons you're thinking about buying this rifle, please perform your own due diligence in regards to whether or not this specific rifle has the 5R,,,,.

The 'original' Savage rifle may have been advertised with / had 5R, but reports are the 'Cabela's Exclusive' version shown here does not..

Not a huge factor for some folks either way, but if 5R excites you, and you think that's what you'll be getting,,,,,eh,,,, Better check it out first and decide from there.

Cabela's site lists it as 5R, FWIW:
https://www.cabelas.com/product/SAVAGE-T-SR-CENTERFIRE-RIFLE/2464333.uts...

Savage® Arms Model 10T-SR Tactical Bolt-Action Rifle with Threaded Barrel

  • 5R rifling adds accuracy and makes cleaning exceptionally easy
  • Threaded barrel is suppressor ready
  • Adjustable AccuTrigger with 1.5- to 6-lb. trigger pull
  • AccuStock features a Beavertail forend
  • BA-style bolt handle provides lightning-fast cycling

It's a great rifle. Only negative is that it's bottom bolt release. I'd prefer top/side bolt release, but they both work fine.

I'm aware of what Cabela's add says,,,
It's most likely a 'copy and paste' job from the old Savage add.
Also aware of people who bought exact same 'Cabela's rifle and indicate is doesn't have 5R,, Standard 6 land rifling instead.

Not of the end of the world by any means, and my 'standard' rifled Savage 12 (bottom bolt release) shoots great,,, However,,, If your heart is set on 5R,,,, and you're the type of person who would be VERY UPSET if you didn't get 5R,,,,, you may want to research the "10T-SR" model before clicking 'buy'..

FWIW, all 'Cabela's exclusive' firearms are generally 'really close' to the original MFG, model, but not exact. Typically, some 'lesser' (?) or perhaps overstocked/discontinued/less expensive components are substituted for the more costly originals.

Example: Bought a 'Cabela's Exclusive' Mossberg 500 Classic last year,,,. Looks virtually identical to the Mossberg model, but no 'gold trigger', and no jeweled bolt.. No big deal. Works just like the 'Mossberg' version, but that's (more or less) how the 'Cabela's Exclusive' program works,,,

Sorry, I must have been typing too quickly. The 18% off is from the gift cards purchased at a discount. Most people have reported good luck, including me, from svmgiftcards off of eBay. They don't always run the discount and you're usually limited to three cards at a time, so keep an eye out.

Then I'd raise hell with Cabela's if Savage denied the rebate. Cabela's advertises the gun as being eligible, so they should make it right somehow.

This is a smoking deal if you combine the 18% coupons, you'll end up at $351 for this gun. Find a cash back site, plus any purchases on a rewards card to squeeze back a few more bucks.

How do I get 18% off the sale price?

Make it a 20in barrel and take pmags then we can talk

what exactly makes this "tactical"??? Looks like a standard bolt-action rifle to me...
Full length barrel, no high-cap mag, no adjustable butt stock, no pica rails (besides for the mandatory scope). Nothing tactical about this. About the only thing extra i see is the 2nd swivel on the fore end, so you can have a bipod installed alongside a sling...

The ability to put on a Muzzle device and the rail is what makes it Tactical but I know what you're saying but those 2 things are a nice addition Tactical or not.

You can avoid that by pre-qualifying your rebate with the UPC online or by calling. Sometimes Cabelas or other large retailers get promo models for free or discount and those will not qualify for rebates.

Don't trust this rebate. I picked up a Savage 10T from Cabelas and Savage said the gun doesn't work toward the rebate

Came here to say this. Even though Cabela's site says it's eligible, the rebate does not. Almost picked this up over the FCP-SR, read carefully!
"Rifles Included:
14/114 American Classic, 16/116 Weather Warrior,
11/111 FCNS, 11/111 BTH, 10 Predator Hunter,
11/111 Long Range Hunter, 16/116 Bear Hunter,
11/111 Lightweight Hunter, 16/116 Lightweight Hunter,
12 FCV and 10 FCP-SR"

I submitted a rebate for the 10T and its been accepted and is in processing. I used the link on the form and pre-submitted online - no problems at all.
You can even call Cabela's before buying, get the UPC and test if its accepted without completing the whole form.
