just got one, shot hundreds of rounds in the past month with no problems. it's been very enjoyable to shoot and one of my favorite hosts.
Ive been shooting this gun though a can for 5+ years, and never once had a FTE issue. 1000s of rounds, this is my go to plinker, have it in a boyd stock
One guy starts a rumor and everyone acts like its true. This is a great gun, very smooth bolt. Buy some of the larger mags for it, its a joy to shoot.
How smooth is the bolt action on these? I have a couple 10-22 bolt action rifles and they are stiff as heck.
I have a heavy barrel version and its really nice and very accurate and the bolt is super smkoth
Thanks for that feedback. How does this cycle rounds? You have any issues with the clip retaining rounds? I ask because I have an older savage and sometimes it will pop loose a live round when ejecting a spent shell or maybe leave the next live round almost pointing straight up. Maybe I just got bad clips…
I have one with no issues. Very accurate with solid trigger. Put a decent scope on it and you’re in good shape. Also recommend the 10 rd mags.
Super smooth, I have a heavy barrel target version and it’s a tack driver and the bolt is easy to operate.
I would get one of these but I’m concerned about all of the reviews about FTE issues. Is there an easy fix, or is it not worth messing with?
Well I ended up giving this a shot. Have one on the way. BTW, there’s a model with a plain black stock for $10 cheaper if you don’t want the camo.
so this has FTE issues? Thanks for sharing!
got one from same deal a few weeks ago. FTE is a major pain. Now waiting on savage to send new extractor parts for multiple failures to extract despite cleaning and resetting the parts. Nice an accurate but what a PITA issue.
Picked up a couple of these and very happy with how smooth the bolt action is, and how accurate they are. My two cents…
