These were originally designated Model 10FP-SR before being dropped from the Savage catalog, and made a Dick's Sports exclusive as the Model 10SBA. Savage has recently made them available to other venders as a budget tactical rifle. The barrel, action, and trigger are excellent. The blind magazine, and the stock are functional, but disappointing for most buyers. It is going to cost a minimum of $400 to upgrade to a block bedded stock with removable magazine. That will bring your cost up to well over $700. For $600 you can buy the new Savage 10/110 Tactical, or Tactical Desert with all the "Bells and Whistles '. Threated muzzle, 20 MOA rail, Accu-Fit/ Accu-Stock, and Magpul AICS removable magazine. Both are beautiful, high performance rifles at bargain prices.

I've owned 4 Savage rifles in the last couple of years. One was similar to this model (Model 10 FCPSR). I would say for the money you would be hard pressed to find a better American made rifle. The action and trigger on all 4 were very good. Fit and finish was fine. Accuracy was not precision match grade but very suitable for target practice or hunting out to extended distances. While I don't own this exact rifle, my gut feeling tells me that this rifle would not disappoint based on my recent and previous Savage rifles.
