That's why I wanted to go to the store to order it. That way I can tell them of its. Not here in time I'm cancelling

Can’t go wrong either way imo, but by the time you buy a mount, scope and this gun that’s a decent amount to go towards an AR-10 if that’s what your heart is set on. But this or Ruger American predator is a great bargain to learn fundamentals

Not set on ar10 I do like the bolt action. However are 219 this seems like a steal. Only thing AR 10 has over this is being semi auto. Just wanted some opinions from people. Especially those who shoot long range

New update- Someone finally called me back from Cabelas. The rifle was shipped to the store and the store cancelled the sale over a month ago with no refund or notice. Causing the gun to go back to the corporate warehouse. I will be receiving a refund after 2.5 months of aggravation trying to get an update. Poor form Cabelas.

Update- the rifle I ordered on 9/11/17 was a varmint gun, 204 Ruger. It was already showing "backorderable" last night before the $320 sale price went into effect again. Still haven't heard back from Cabela's.

BUYER BRWARE!!!TOTALLY BOGUS PROMO IN REGARDS TO 6.5 CREEDMOOR!!! Read Gundealsguy50, and my 11/22 postings below. This morning I logged in to find Cabela's was showing Limited Stock on the 6.5 Creedmoor. I went Ballistic. The Limited Stock info has repeatedly popped up numerous times since I placed my order on 9/9 with Cabela's well aware they have hundreds of undelivered 6.5CM still on backorder from their Sep. $319 Promo. This morning I called Cabela's and worked my way up to the highest representative that was available today. She assured that I would be contacted asap by a more senior representative in regards to my ethic complaint.
If you are reading this post you are most likely a life long gun lover who works hard and wants to be treated honestly. These promos generate false expectation for the buyer and are unethical. With hundreds of 6.5 CM on back-order there is no way in hell that if you ordered one today that you would have it in time to get your rebate. Cabela,s is aware of this but have elected to continue their promotion.

What are you ranting about? You said you already picked your rifle up almost a month ago. My 308 had the same stock anomaly as popping up with limited stock after waiting for 7 weeks (yep, I was a bit perturbed). 1 week later, I got confirmation of ready to pick up. Stock isn't infinite on products.

Rebate status still has viability:
"Valid for purchases made September 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017
Reward materials must be postmarked by
January 31, 2018"

I ordered mine during the $319 sale a couple of months ago. At the time the status stated “limited stock”. Cabela’s sent out an email a few days later stating that the item was back ordered. I did receive the item however. It just took a few weeks. So, in my own personal experience, I cannot say anything negative about the order fulfillment process. I am however still waiting to see if my rebate has been accepted.

Ordered and paid for mine 9/11/17. Still waiting for it as of 11/22/17.

The rebate is only good if Cabelas will ship them in time.

Ordered mine on 9/11 as well. Not sure what caliber you got but mine was in .308 and came in on 11/6; fairly steep 8 week wait period there. It's obvious the 308 and 6.5 are by far the most popular and perhaps this alone is indication that Savage cannot meet demand for this exclusive for Cabela's as the build date for mine was only a month old.

I'm not sure how Savage is handling the rebate, but postmark date is 1/31/18. Although I picked mine up when I did, all my receipt items were dated 9/11 and I put that in for purchase date. We'll see how the rebate goes but as for the rifle, totally worth the price to the point that I cannot be too mad if it gets rejected. I was going to customize it like everyone else seems to, but I'll honestly just fill the butt-stock and epoxy the fore-end (maybe bed the action) on an already sub-MOA rifle that far exceeded expectations.

Have you looked at Boyd’s pro varmit or At one stock. So much easier to bed then this stock. Another great option is find an accustock take off on eBay. Just make sure to get the right one.

Placed my back-order for a 6.5 CM on 9/9 picked it up on 10/29. Cabela's back-order policy is totally unethical. On Sep.7th, they began their $319 promo, by Sep 9th many of the calibers were out of stock, but back-orderable. Cabela's continued to advertise the promo, and accept back-orders on all calibers for three more weeks, until it ended on Oct. 1st. Now they have started $369. promo, well aware they still have hundreds of rifles that still have not been delivered to customers that ordered in Sep. The Savage $100 rebate ends Jan.1st. It looks to me like some people are going to get SCREWED.

I'm confused by the rebate confusion. it says on cabelas website it has a rebate and has a link.

could someone please post where to get a detachable magazine kit for this that isn't $200. I see links all over to that one savage customized dealer but i can't find it on their site. I ordered this and would like to get that new boyds adjustable stock and add the magazine. if y'all have links I would love to hear. thanks so much.

Did the rebate issue finally get resolved?

Both the company handling the rebate and Savage say the gun is eligible for the rebate. Cabela's says it isn't but I trust the people who are cutting the check more.

I purchased 6.5 CM and .223 when they were still in-stock and they were still in-stock several days after my purchase date. I noticed no shipment info so I checked order status and they show backordered and still shows backordered. I emailed Cabela's customer support and this is their reply.

"Thank you for being a Cabela's CLUB Member! It is my pleasure to assist. According to our inventory records, both firearms are out of stock with an unknown restocking date. The website is not accurate and should be updated within the next few business days.

Cabela's strives to keep stock available for shipment at all times. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay might cause you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us again for prompt assistance, thank you"

So they are stating that their website is not accurate!

how can they fill my back order on a rifle that is discontinued by savage?

0 votes

That is a good question. My research shows this is a Cabela's only deal their marketing people worked out with Savage. I've read posting that dated as far back as 2006 saying the 12 FV had been discontinued and removed from the Savage website. In the years since 2006 their are numerous posting showing that people have found "new" 12 FV's in limited quantities at different outlets, but mostly Cabela's. In Nov.2016 Cabela's offered them at a special price of $369. They reappeared at Cabela's in March 2017 at $419 until they began the latest $319 special. The 6.5 Creedmoor is a new offering. I placed a back-order for one on 9/9. Tonight it appears my order is being processed and they show they have limited stock in all cals. except 204 Ruger.

It's not discontinued, it's only available from Cabelas. When I talked to them, they said they will get new shipments every week. I was told my order would be shipping to my store within 5-8 business days.

It's a build gun, throw away the cheap stock, but on a Boyds At-One stock, pillar & epoxy bed the action, make sure the barrel is free floated, but a target trigger spring in the accu-trigger, pay for it in $100 for $80 gift cards & have under $400 in a 1500 yard bug hole shooter. Build 2 a year but 1st time going a 6.5 CM, I called the company issuing the rebate cards on this & the compass & both said no limit to one person, buy 12 get 12 rebates, YES!

I called Savage, the Savage 3rd party that administrates the rebates and both of them were confused. On September 8, I talked to Pam in customer service at Cabelas who supposedly called their representative from Savage and confirmed that the rebate did apply to these guns. Ordered 2. I will verify once again before I take possession of these guns as there still seems to be some confusion.

Does anyone have an EXACT UPC of these rifles?
I assume it is UPC 011356183934 for .308, but maybe someone already has a box.
We can reach out directly to some higher-up in Savage CSR and ask to clarify this - from my experience, they are always VERY helpful.

I called Cabelas, Savage, Vista (the company processing the mail in rebate for Savage) today. The cabelas rep clearly had no clue as she told me 3 times that it did qualify and 2 times that it did not. She then told me to call my local Cabelas and ask them if it qualifies. Savage said it qualifies. Vista asked for the Savage product number, did some reading on her computer, then said "yes, that rifle qualifies for the $100 visa card"

So yes, as long as Cabelas fills the backorder within the rebate period, it is eligible.

This rebate has gotten confusing, is it or is it not valid? $100 is a hefty amount to get rejected on. Everything I've seen is Cabela's says no, Savage says yes. I'm tempted to believe the company sponsoring the rebate.

Contacted Cabela’s concerning Savage 12FV rebate. This rifle is not available for the rebate. Quote from email received today, “Thank you for your interest in the products we offer. I’m sorry the Savage FV Rifle, item 292379, is not included in the manufacturer rebate offer. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We are in the process of updating our site to correct this error.” Just wanted to let people know.

This is a varmint barrel, for long strings of fire at a field of Prairie dogs. The Compass field barrel will heat up and become less accurate much quicker. The Savage bolt requires less force to operate but that is the trade off for the 60* bolt of the Compass.

I don't see how this is better than the S&W Compass that's under $200 after rebate... especially if you get the Vortex Scope combo for $275 after rebate...

65 creedmoor is way oversold and estimated back order is 9-12 weeks according to Cabelas. Other popular calibers will follow suit.

May I ask, how did you get an estimate?

My experience with Cabela's "backordered" status has been very bad over the years - I think in all but one instances I never received anything "backordered" - it has just been followed by "your order has been cancelled" a few days/weeks later.
I'd love to get 308 or 223, but both are backordered now...

This estimate came a Cabelas employee. They said they hoped it would be in that time frame, but wouldn't guarantee anything

Have one in 223. Consistently under 0.75" at 100 yds with 69 grain

The FV is discontinued it does not have a magazine and no accu stock that's why it's so cheap but still not a bad price.
The FCV is the new model and has all that cost $600

Just called the savage rebate center and they confirmed this rifle does qualify for the $100 rebate.

It falls under the FCV class of rifles and it is good for the hundred dollar gift card rebate.

This gun is not included in any rebate is it?

No rebate I could find... The $100 reward card seems to exclude the 12FV. It includes the 12 FCV... I bought a couple 12FV in .308 last feb thinking for $319 why not? Have not got around to installing scope and shooting either of them yet...

I'm talking to Cabella's and they say it doesn't qualify for the rebate. I also called Savage and they said it does qualify for the $100 gift card under the FCV Group of rifles.

This deal was so good I bought 2 (308 & 223). One is already available for pickup so I had my FFL email the store (Reno) a copy of his license yesterday and they should be shipping it soon, all good so far.

Originally was going to go with a Axis for $210 after rebate but decided to step up to the 12FV

Only thing that scares me is I contacted Cabela's and they have no idea when next shipment will come in :(

They won't ship to a local FFL? That stinks.

I couldn't pass on this deal so I called a couple weeks ago to check and was told they do ship to your FFL but it must first be shipped to a Cabelas store. From there you can have your FFL send the Cabelas store a fax and they'll ship it for $25. I'm still going through the process but it sounds pretty straight forward.

That is great news! I hope all Cabellas stores do that and not just the one nearest to you. I had my eye on that .204 Ruger. Appreciate your comment!
