FEATURES
Possibly the most rigorously tested pistol ever developed, the new SAR9 endured 130 degree baking to simulate desert conditions, -50 degree for the arctic, salt fog, high altitude, 24 hr of rain, solar radiation, fouling, drop tests and 150000 round of live fire in the factory. Police later ran their own test that included 50000 rounds. Finally, a NATO test against major manufacturers from Austria, German and the U.S. ran 90000 rounds with the SAR9 the clear winner. However, the SAR9 has more to offer than just toughness and reliability. The lightweight polymer framed, striker fired, 9mm, SAR9 points naturally and is a pleasure to shoot. With a choice of three insertable back straps to customize fit, a low barrel axes to grip ratio to lessen muzzle climb and 20 degree grip angle providing superior control and fast second shot recovery accuracy is built in. Couple these features with a safety trigger that is smoother than a double action revolver and the SAR9 becomes the perfect carry-pistol when you want a round in the chamber.
Features:
- Front and rear serrations on frame for easy slide manipulation
- Picatinny rail for your favorite accessories
- Adjustable grip panels to accommodate all shooters, 3 sizes of backstraps and grip panels

Not yet. I like this gun so much that I have been tempted to get the no thumb safety model.

i love my sar9. perfect fit in my hand and one of my best naturally shooting pistols. sight was dead on from factory. now the bad side. i'm an ole fart with R/A and my left hand doesn't have much strength. can't rack it with L hand. now trigger, it's the worst trigger i've ever had. gritty spongey and pulls a country mile. there are not parts avaliable to get it under 3 lbs. hate to take a $250 gun to a gunsmith and spend more than i paid for the gun to try to figure out what springs will work in this brand to get it to under 3 lbs. would i buy again? YES

I did the Glock trigger job on mine and it's much smoother. For $17.50 delivered, Galloway Precision has a 3.5 lb. trigger kit. That and a trigger job may be your best budget option. Galloway has other performance options for this model as well. I bought an 18 lb. recoil assembly and saw a noticeable improvement in my follow up shots. I'm still looking for a good dependable retention holster made for this gun only so if anyone finds one please list it here.

From what I understand there are Glock springs that fit. Search the net. Also 2 things. You can smooth out the trigger ALOT by polishing all internal contact points of the trigger, trigger bar, and something I found is some grit actually comes from the trigger blade itself rubbing on the frame of the gun. Use a small nail file and clean it up and then lastly, shooting the pistol does smooth everything out. Typical break in stuff. But do the "Glock trigger job" and see if it helps. It's not the best trigger but mine feels just about a Glock. It pulls at 5lbs. Good luck
PS use dry graphite lube instead of oil during break in. It doesn't collect all the metal, dirt, dust and crud while breaking it in.

I am absolutely impressed with these pistols. Very nice, reliable and such a comfortable gun. It's just like a HK VP9 frame and Glock slide. Wish more holster makers would make duty retention holsters. It's hit and miss for finding suitable holsters, especially if you wanna run a light and or laser combo. Alot of "it fits but......"

Still waiting on my rebate from the one I bought back in December '21. I reach out to them recently and they said they had a problem with their filing system and I'd have to resubmit my info. They'll never get my business again because of this. They didn't even reach out to their customers to let them know this happened. That's just messed up in my opinion. No telling how many rebates they didn't pay out. Thank goodness I still had my receipt and SKU on the box or I wouldn't have been able to resubmit it. It's also been 3 weeks since I resubmitted it. Not sure I'll ever get it.

I just recently received this pistol Very smooth shooting gun it’s fits my hand great and I really like how they send 3 extra parts to set up to your likings but mine doesn’t have the orange SAR9 on the grip panels overall very well made gun

Got mine today on 1/8/2022 and took it to the range.

TLDNR: It was $220 plus tax delivered after a $30 rebate. For what you get and the way it shot, this is a heck of a deal. It is well worth the $250 even without the rebate. I like this gun a lot and it is well worth the money I spent. Seriously don’t hesitate to buy

I did not know what to expect from what is basically a $220 gun. I read/watched a lot of reviews with most being very positive.

I used 115 grain Blazer Brass ammo. It shot every round without a problem. The gun felt great in my hand, I was accurate with it, and it was fun to shoot. I only put 85 rounds through it today (5 magazines) but I can say this gun will be a regular at the range. I took a Glock 19 and Glock 34 for comparison shooting 3 magazines of each. I was equally accurate with all three guns…… and I think I liked the way this fit my hand better than the Glocks.

The SAR is between the 19 and 34 in length. It is the same height as the 34. I use a p365 for everyday carry and do not like conceal carrying larger guns. If I did I would not hesitate to carry the SAR based on today’s performance. This is a gun that I will take to the range a lot and recommend to friends looking for an inexpensive gun to protect their home.

Overall if you are looking for a new 9mm gun and don’t want to break the bank, this to me is a great gun.

As far as Palmetto State Armory goes, I have been using them for years with no major complaints and hope to use them for years to come.

Picked mine up today. Feels more solid than a Ruger p95 and well balanced. I bought this to replace my g19x that was my under the seat gun. My wife kept leaving the car in the driveway with the doors unlocked half the time so I figured this was a cheaper option to get stolen if it was to happenunlocked half the time so

I've pulled a trigger on one, finally. I don't think you can get two rebates at once (same address/name) too.
And there are a lot more other guns to try beside it, like PSA Dagger for $299....

    Capt. What’s the Dagger ?

    0 votes
    0 votes

The Dagger is a Glock 19 clone made by PSA. kit10dog said he was considering buying one in his comment above. I made a comment on that gun but took it down because my experience was just one sample and I don’t own the gun personally.

Howdy. You're welcome! Regarding the delete/edit comments thing.....I don't recall ever seeing the option to delete, but I have noticed the absence of the edit option on some comments. When I first noticed it I suspected it was related to the age of the comment, but I no longer suspect that. I don't see an option to edit my comment you replied to here. I edited that comment at least once (maybe more) immediately after posting it. Maybe the edit option disappears after X number of edits? Dunno, but it would be EZ enough to test.

How much of a clone is it? Are the parts interchangeable aside from mag?

    0 votes

with the exception of ergonomics and exterior appearance, almost an exact copy. I mounted a psa upper on a glock 19 lower and it functioned perfectly. I've also mounted a custom glock upper on a psa lower and got the same results.

PSA had the assembled dagger slides with raised sights and a threaded barrel for 175 iirc 2 days ago. Being a Glock copy, would it work with SAR9 frame, can anyone confirm?

    0 votes
    0 votes

SAR9 frame is 0.5" longer. I'd keep the SAR9 as is. I am planning to get another Dagger with threaded barrel and optic cut, it's OOS all the time but should be $399 once available, or just with an optic cut and night sights for $380. I have a regular Dagger for $299 and I like it, very comfortable, no issues through the first 100 rounds. Only trigger could be better

I would have done 2 if that was the case, went to the range today with it, POA POI, couldn't be more happier with the purchase. I wouldn't mind having another one though...

The only way you can get 2, is to just buy a 2nd one and eat the $30 rebate but if you really like it then just GET IT... The rumor is that SAR is trying to get rid of this Older model to make way for newer ones (my guess Optics cut..etc).
The Sar9 is modeled after the Glock 17 (Gen3) with an internal chassis (like the SIG P320 / Beretta APX/ Steyr M9A1) so SOME G17 parts will fit but you'll have to try and possibly sand/adjust to fit so your mileage will vary.
Example, you can use a Promag SIG P320 mag but you have to grind a different catch for it to work (Guns R US on YT) has video if you are a tinkerer and dont want to buy $35 mags online.
Galloway Precision has a replacement trigger shoe and spring (But they say it doesn't fit perfect due to the Manual Safety) so they only support on the NON-Manual Safety version SAR9TBL. but.....I read in YT comments that you can "Adjust the hole" to fix the different geometry.. again YMMV.
IF you really HATE the Manual Safety you can replace the pin with a custom one to Defeat the MS. (Snake Doc on YT) has some info on it) and not sure if he had a bunch made still available to sell ya.

PSA Dagger (G19 Gen3 clone) slide may fit but be shorter by 1/2 in (4in compared to 4.5in) not including the recoil spring length or any other design differences in the SAR9... AND it would look Funky as the dust cover would stick out of slide.
For this pistola just leave it AS-IS and break it in and trigger will improve enough for you to have a predicable wall (which is most important in my humble opinion).
Hope this helps anyone with their newly acquired SAR9 that Santa brought them..!! he got lost and mine hasn't shown up just yet so i'll update more once I can inspect it..

I promised to myself it will be the last handgun without the optic cut I purchase, can't pass up for $250-30 rebate. I guess updated versions will be quite more expensive, but overall gun prices are trending down now, so we may get something nice and cheap from SAR yet

Sweet, appreciate a like minded fellow. I dont know how PSA is able to sell their Dagger lineup given the SAR9 is way cheaper. Being a glock copy this one is by far superior version of them all for the money. Thats an interesting rumor of them dumping the gun in hopes to make room for future version of it, i wonder just how many were brought State side. I'm definitely keeping my eye on that in case they really need to dump this line of guns and sell them for even less than this. I did reach out to SAR about the MS pin replacement and it somewhat defeats the good deal purchase to begin with ($34.95 plus $10.95 SH). I would have thought they would give a break to those who return their MS after pin replacement installation.

Just got mine from PSA took 2 days to get here. I must say I was really surprised when I held it in my hand. Crazy to think this thing is like $30 more than a POS brick hi-point. The weight is perfect, grip is great, looks fantastic. Trigger pull is identical to a gen 5 glock.
Like someone below said I think this is the deal of the year

A tank of a pistol at $220, it trully is the deal of the 2021 season. We'll all look back on this deal in the future and wish we'd bought more..... PSA does free 2nd day air shipping, another plus especially for this time of year.

$219.99 shipped after rebate. My FFL charges $15 for transfers, $5 for FLDLE call-in. So $240 total.
Did you ever buy a gun you didn’t need just because it was a really good deal? Yeah, me too.
If it’s nearly as good as my Canik (my other Turkish gun) I’ll consider it a great deal. Will report back.

Got mine in and tried 1 full mag of brass 155gr fmj, all went bang, no issues. It came with magazines with 17 holes drilled. From YouTube videos, i guess the older versions had only 15 viewing holes but could fit 17 rounds in the magazine. I am entirely satisfied with this gun, especially at the current price in this market.

Just an FYI. The gun pictured (SAR9BL) DOES NOT show thumb safety BUT the SKU and UPC indicated for this gun DOES have ambi thumb safety. The model W/O thumb safety is SAR9TBL.
