Olight's have done me well. I have almost everything they have ever made. I received one defective item and they were very quick to replace it even though is was a limited color. Customer for life.

Not worth the upgrade from the I3T EOS.

At 910 candela and the 3 coming in at 900, this mere 10 improvement in “throw” makes the 300 lumens (5) vs the 180 (3) negligible. Lumens are totally subjective anyways. I doubt most could determine much of a difference between the two lights except a marginal illumination difference in a completely dark or dim room.

What you do get with this new 5 is yet another battery to buy, store and keep track of. You get more weight. You also get a larger diameter body. For all these accommodations I would expect more than a lousy 120 lumen gain from the 5 vs 3.

Why not carry the Streamlight dual fuel 350 Lumen which takes AA nicad or lith + Standard CR’s or rechargeables? Or one of Fenix’s superior offerings.

Lastly, I pretty much loathe Olight (as if you couldn’t tell). However, the 3 is an outstanding light and it gets no negative remarks from me, despite how much I’ve been let down by all the Olights I’ve bought and sold or just given away out of disappointment.

This 5 is unproven and though it looks similar it may not yield the same stellar performance the 3 has.
