Is this made in Turkey by Ucyildiz Arms or Russia? The original 5 round magazines Classic sells say made in Russia by Ucyildiz Arms which is located in Turkey but people are being told made in Russia and way overpriced. I think a fair price for this is about $500 now with Trump in office. The price will drop if he resumes imports. The markup on this has to be at least 400%. People that think $800 is cheap and paid over $1000 and are keeping the prices high, a sucker is born every minute. Don't know why Classic raised the price from $700 to $800. Gunbyer.com has it for $763.93 with free shipping. I'm waiting for the $700 deal and will get some mags too to save on shipping and think is still too much. Was thinking to get the DDI 12 for $500 which has better sights similar to Mossberg 930 SPX, ghost ring and fiber optic front sight and can also take the AR style adjustable stock which cannot be done with the Vepr 12.

Three types, all made in Russia. Compare your 3 versions of the VEPR12 for apples to apples comparison. The original folding stocks with the weld (easy to remove for 922r compliance) are the very best versions. Ones with fixed stock, I agree $600 would be going rate at today's common sense market.

you just can't beat that price of $700

I wish they fold. Are these going to continue dropping ?

Your options are these:

1. Wait to see if they drop below $700. Upside: you may save 50 bucks. (maybe). Downside: They sell out at this price.

2. Get one for less. Upside: you saved a few bucks.

Would you make a bet where the max gain you can receive from winning is $50? The losing side being you forever do without this shotty (or get one on gunjoker for $200 more - so losing $200 say.)

The ante is time. Your time. You are spending it to win or lose this bet. What do you do?

QUESTION for Dealer! : @Classic

When the price point was $799 with "free 100 rounds of wolf ammo" the importer was WPA, this states the manufacturer as "Ucyildiz Arms".

Is there a difference in quality here, why the switch?

Obama Banned import of AK's from Russia, this being an AK shotgun made my Saiga/Molot I'm sure this is a name change to get around that bullshit ban.

This deal was submitted by ako, not a dealer posting. Classic has no idea you are trying to contact them. Why don't you send them an email?

HA, you have obviously never dealt with classic. Then again, maybe they do a better job BEFORE a purchase than they do after. I have placed 4 or 5 orders with them and the only time there was a problem with an order it was hell getting anyone to answer calls or emails. 4 out of 5 isnt bad but I was hoping someone who has purchased one of these non-wpa VEPR 12's would be able to attest to the quality or lack there of.....

HA, you have obviously not used your brain in starting your original sentence:

You have a strange way of "hoping someone who has purchased one of these non-wpa VEPR 12's would be able to attest to the quality or lack there of...." when you started your post with

"QUESTION for Dealer!" then followed it with @Classic.

Maybe you don't know what you are asking???

Sorry to ask. It might be an answer posted somewhere but is that the only stock option available or there is a version with folded stock ?

For sale new at this price, there is only a fixed stock version.

When they first came out there was a folding stock version that was welded shut. If you cut the weld you were subject to BATF 922(r). but that is an easy fix.

You can still buy that first style either through gunjoker, armslist, or a vendor who still has or comes across these. Just way more money now.

This is one bad asss shotgun, I love mine and remember that they cost $1500 and you had to be on a waiting list to get one at first, this price is a no brainier, I could not pass up this price. what other AK pattern auto shotgun are you going to get at this price ready to go no modifications/conversions needed?

Only downsides, (you know there is always at least one) is factory mags are expensive, and you will be buying a lot of 12ga shells, buck and birdshot.

Thanks. I was able to get some for even less from PSA a few months back during one of their weekend deals. $4.99 each I believe. Got some 10 round mags from J&G sales but they were over $30 each. I'm curious if the unconverted Saiga slide fire stock will fit the catamount fury. That may be fun.

I got the catamount fury II on Labor Day from PSA for dirt cheap. It is 100% reliable. Only ten round mags though. But for the price, it's a great shotgun.

Anyone know when SGM is releasing the SGM Drums for the VEPR12?

While I'm thinking of it, status of SGM 20rd mags for a 7.62x54r VEPR?

SGM fell of the radar over a year ago about both, stating still in production/R&R.

Hands down the VEPR12 is the best at all things 12ga. Since DDI just came out with their Saiga "based" Chinese frame (cough Catamount) DDI-12, the VEPR is far superior. Just picked up the DDI-12 today and just in "the feel" you can't tell the Vepr is far better quality. I'm a bit biased as I am a vepr12 guy all day, over the Saiga 12 and over the DDI12. DDI build quality is good, but damn DDI needs to step up to a milled receiver and stop buying Chinese frames. Who thinks buying Chinese frames is a good idea? Anyone? Anyone?

VEPR12 (folding stock configuration) any day......

The REASON they ARE BUYING THIS CHINESE GARBAGE is that they THEY ARE CHEAP ( putting lipstick on a pig). Once you begin to run the DDI hard, its going to break. I don't understand y anew company like DDI would risk their reputation with Chinese made Garage (these are NOT Noric0's)...

ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i guess people just cant do math... $100 less than a vepr for an "amazing frangible shotgun!" (TM) is not a "good deal", nor is it "cheap". i mean its cheaply made, and likely hawt gahbage, but its not cheap. if the cat fury was 2-250 i would pick one up.... if the ddi 12 was 3-350 i might, i was almost tempted at 6. but then sanity caught up with me and reminded me i could have the REAL THING!!! for $100 more..... no brainer........DEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRP!

Best AK shotgun on the market. Fixed, folding, metal or wood...no matter! Get one! NOW!

You'll be utterly pleased if you're an AK guy. The build on this unit is top notch, and if you get one, you will not regret it.

I agree. I had the opportunity to go shooting with one and loved it.

My problems is I won't be happy unless I get the sidefolder version, so I'm holding out for those to come back.

I'm sorry for you because those will probably never come back...

I know you're right. That is why I'm saving for a VEPR 12 AK-100 addition:

https://www.legionusa.com/vepr-12-shotgun-ak-100-edition.html...

Nothing cooler, but the real deal is the shotty I need for my Jeep absolutely has to be a folder. There is no way to hide a 37" one.

Rest assured they are coming back this spring with a lower price point of $699. FIME will be the importer. Folders will be available. Watch this video at: https://youtu.be/nyYF2yeM2Ik?t=169...

BS... He only mentioned fixed stock VEPR 12. I really doubt due to import laws that the "fixed" folder will ever be available again.

So that's a good idea.

I saw that vid during Shot Show. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough when I stated it had to be a folder.

Please try to insure you are correct when handing out advice. The folder you are recommending will not work with this shotgun.

Does bonesteel even sell stuff still? I know the site is up but last time I ordered something back in September 2015 I just received a charge back & no explanation. Even all the reviews stop around sept of last year. Good luck.

At this price I had to bite. I missed out on the PSL and Siaga from days of yore but not this time. Thank's OP, had to cut groceries out of the budget this month to make way for this baby.

I would rather have the folding stock so I can convert it back to folding.

What did they do that?!

I'm confused? These ship from the factory with TWO five rounds mags, so is classic taking one out of each box & then reselling them?

I don't know a lot about shotguns in general, so please forgive my ignorance in asking this question: There is a trap and skeet shooting club near my house with a very reasonable annual membership rate, and I thought it might be fun to join and learn how to shoot clays there. First, do you think that they would allow me to use a magazine-fed shotgun like this? Second, would this shotgun work well for that sort of thing? (Aside from it's obvious other uses as a fun range toy / possible home defense gun) Third, and lastly: are magazines relatively affordable and easy to find for this shotgun? I have friend with a converted Saiga, and he has quite a few different higher-capacity magazines for it. (and there is a pretty decent looking converted Saiga 12 on my local Armslist right now for $850) So, do I go for this or the converted Saiga 12, or neither, and why?

Yes, they probably allow this shotty to be used all the time you want to practice there. As to whether or not they allow it to be used for competitions depends on the sanctioning body. My guess is they probably would also.

This shotty would work very well for this type of shooting because trap & skeet is relatively stationary. If you want to enjoy sporting clays in the future, I would say it is probably too heavy. It is a lot of weight to be carrying around the equivalent of a small golf course.

Mags are affordable, but typical shooters usually only have two or three shell in the gun simulating a real hunting experience.

Here is an example of the mag price:
Original Russian: http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-accessories/vepr-12-russian-10-round-magazine-detail.html?Itemid=0...

SGM: http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-accessories/vepr-12-sgm-10-round-magazine-detail.html?Itemid=0...

Quite a big difference on price!!!

Saiga is rarer than these VEPRs but YMMV. Get what you like. (I would like a Saiga 12!)

NewMexican,

Thanks for the reply and the advice. I like the Zia in your avatar! I used to live in Rio Rancho outside of ABQ myself and I surely miss the awesome weather and 300+ days of sunshine a year.

I can tell you what not to do. I bought this gun from Atlantic Firearms and its been an absolute fucking disaster. Never received the free ammo, they don't answer emails, and phone calls are ignored. Im still waiting for the ammo and I ordered it on 7/28/15. Don't buy from Atlantic Firearms. I won't use them again, thats for sure

Atlantic has 1,000's of happy customers for each one that has had your experience. I, myself, have personally bought from them and everything was great.

I'm only addressing your comment "Don't buy from Atlantic Firearms". They are members here, ARFcom, AKfiles, etc. Have you tried sending them a pm? I find it strange that you posted your rant on the classic firearms deal instead of the Atlantic Firearms one:

https://gun.deals/product/vepr-12-gauge-shotgun-fixed-stock-799...

If you had they would probably have contacted you. They are super fast in doing so. So my question is now: How hard have you really tried to contact them?

Actually, there are a bunch of unanswered questions:

Did you send them your order number?
Do you have an order number?
Did you even buy this shotty from them?
Are you trying to besmirch their great reputation?
Are you associated with another vendor who wants to make inroads on Atlantic's market share?

Of course any vendor may have an off day every once and a while. But for them to not answer your messages is, as others have said, *very* surprising.

I have much more enjoyable things to do on the weekends than READ about guns, that's when we SHOOT them.

Sorry you are too broke to do anything enjoyable on the weekends. At least you can afford your internet bill.

Or do you log on at McDonald's when picking up your nutrition?

In case you didn't understand the relation by Adam & Eve thing I'll state it flat out: I am not related to Atlantic Firearms nor anyone from there. I have had several purchases go great with them and that's why I highly recommend them.

Now stop trolling me, unless you want to look really stupid. I can do this all day.
