If you like the AR-10 or AK platforms you will absolutely LOVE this new RPK style Vepr rifle. Available in the popular and plentiful .308 Winchester, it is a candidate for the best Molot ever made. The longer 20.5 in. barrel it improves the accuracy and muzzle velocity by allowing for an increased burn rate, and .308 provides half the bullet drop for twice energy over 7.62x39 at 500 yards.. With the RPK style 1.5mm stamped receiver, the receiver is 50% thicker than your standard AK and utilizes reinforced trunnions. The thicker receiver helps from flexing, fatigue, and jamming under extended fire. Cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel. Cartridge chamber, gas cylinder, and bolt are also chrome lined. Due to the added thickness the groups take more rounds for them to open up from heat. You should see 1.25 in. to 1.5 in. groups at 100 yards depending on ammo and shooter skill set. RPK base sights can adjust windage without using a tool or adjustments to the front sight, and the thinner front post provides for less target obscurity with the front sight. Also includes a factory installed rail which will accept numerous scope mounts. The folding stock allows for a smaller package for storage or transportation needs, and locks into place securely without rattling. All locking mechanisms are made of metal with prevents wear over time from heavy usage. This folding stock has a rubber recoil pad, not commonly found on AK rifles, providing a more comfortable shooting experience..

That is true, but honestly Arsenal milled rifles have risen quite a bit in the last few years. I don't think this will be the equivalent to the SGL21 to say the least.
And the fact that it was manufactured by Molot, a now defunct arms factory that was one of the three main Russian arms plants along with Tula and Izshmash.
For $1,800, you could have a MUCH BETTER rifle, INCLUDING a quality scope, in just about any caliber you wanted that be much more accurate and reach out a lot further than this one. $1,800 for this... No Way !!!!
Really cool, just not sure it's worth 1800 cash but...
There were only 300, if I remember correctly, of this exact configuration Vepr 308 side folder. Sure you could build or buy a more accurate 308 AR for cheaper but this rifle for $1800 will always appreciate in value due to it being Russian.
