This will probably hurt the sales on chiappa and heritage , I'm hopeful the quality will be better . Fifty bucks more over the heritage may mean three times better quality . They most likely have a 22 mag in the works , with a conversion cylinder, that will show up before long.

This is from earlier today on

Subd. 4.Saturday night special pistol. "Saturday night special pistol" means a pistol other than an antique firearm or a pistol for which the propelling force is carbon dioxide, air or other vapor, or children's pop guns or toys, having a frame, barrel, cylinder, slide or breechblock:
(1) of any material having a melting point (liquidus) of less than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, or...

I asked a friend... those two states have melting point laws for guns... so you can't burn them after a crime to get rid of them. He said it means it probably has a Zamak receiver... whatevz that is.

Yup, melting point laws are all about controlling access to inexpensive handguns to keep the poor (who supposedly commit all the crime) unarmed. A .22LR/Mag revolver doesn't need to be made out of the same strength steel that a more powerful caliber would necessitate. The aluminum alloys these budget .22 revolvers are made out of hold up just fine to a lifetime of plinking. I've got the Heritage Rough Rider .22LR that I paid $109 for and it's a great little gun. Less than $200 shipped for the additional fit and finish of a Ruger sounds like it should be a win.
