Own one. Really good. Holds zero very well after reassemble.

I hope so, a gun that doesn't hold zero is pretty pointless. Imagine of cars were reviewed in the same manner: Own one. Really good. Engine starts again after car is parked.

What am I missing? As has already been mentioned the space savings amounts to about 4 inches. “Takedown barrel is removed from the upper receiver by moving the slider bar towards the breech, rotating the barrel and pulling it free (no tools required). For installation, slide the barrel into the upper and twist until it locks.” Are there other caliber barrels ( 300AAC 6.8 SPC ) available that can attach to the upper in the same fashion : No tools required : ??

Yes there are quick swappable barrels in 300 blk but at $400+. Novel concept but, in my opinion, not worth the cost when you consider that you have $1400 in a mid grade rifle with a spare barrel. Other issues I see are; miniscule space savings over just taking down a normal AR, takes longer to assemble, is now 3 pieces as opposed to 2 (there goes your space savings), and if you do change barrels / calibers your point of impact will no longer match your sighting system.

You can buy a comparable DI AR-556 for $550 and still have $850 left over for a second upper as well as optics for both. To me, that is a MUCH wiser purchase.

The price seems good compared to other places, I just don't really see the point. Everyone can easily separate the upper from the lower, so the only trick here is the barrel then comes out of the upper easily, saving what? 4 inches? All that for such a small gain. I'd rather spend that thousand on a Spikes complete rifle, or something better. I'd be interested to see how close a regular ar comes to fitting in that bag.

Also consider that this is a piston gun and not DI. Also the ability to change out the barrel for 300 AAC Blackout for an extra $350-$400. So now you essentially have 2 rifles in one. So for about $1400 (still less than the cost of this rifle at other vendors) you now have the pleasure of 556 or 300 AAC!

I'd rather have two complete, functional, assembled rifles for $1400 than a rifle and spare barrel for that same cost.....

LOL!...Um ok.

Spending $1400 on a mid grade AR with an extra barrel is quiet the laugh.

At least some of us have $1400 to spend.

I have plenty to spend but choose not to waste $1400. Big difference. You act like you are saving money buying an overpriced item cheaper compared to another retailer.

BTW, enjoy your 300 blackout barrel that has already been discontinued by Ruger ;)

Apparently economics is not your strong point. And I will enjoy my barrel since it's already been ordered. But thanks for your useless input as usual.

Apparently how a upper and a lower break down without modification is not your strong point. I will enjoy my standard BREAKDOWN AR-15 since it was already invented 50 years ago. But thanks for your useless input as usual.

Enjoy getting parts for your discontinued rifle ;)

Ditto, all my AR's already "break down." I'd rather the 4 extra inches and cut reassembly time in half.

This is an incredible deal!!! Been looking at this rifle for awhile now but was never willing to pay $1700 for it. This is nearly 50% off compared to everywhere else. Ordered it!! Thanks CDNN!!! They are a great retailer!!!
