Still a good price, but this was $630 at Lanbo's. I'm hoping to see that price again.

Can someone help me? I'm not new to firearms by any means but have very limited experience with the 1911 platform. I have a Girsan MC1911 (2nd gen) that I love to death, but I can't get over the fact that the rail is really killing in the looks department on the gun for me. I actually ordered the Girsan without the rail, but Bud's messed it up and shipped the wrong product to my FFL, because I was picking up something else from my FFL on the same date, I had to take the Girsan as well so that my other firearm would not be at my FFL's store until Buds sent the right firearm.

Anyway, I have a buddy who wants to buy the Girsan off of me for a fair price and I'm thinking about either a Ruger or SA at or below $700. I know obviously Ruger is a muuuuccchhh better name/brand than Girsan, but what should I be expecting?

FYI the Girsan has been absolutely a darling, accurate, zero FTF, FTE etc, but I just want something else...

I own a RIA, and an Ruger. I love my Rock Island Tac II, very accurate and excellent fit and finish. But those RIA's are pricing themselves out of the affordable market and getting close to a Ruger price point. Rugers are by far the best 1911 the money can buy. Excellent guns. Highly recommended.

Those Girsans (and even the Tisas) are pretty decent for the price but their fit/finish can't compete with the SR1911 or the Springfields. I also do not like rails on 1911s either.
I also prefer American made firearms which is part of why I went with the SR1911 over a Tisas or even Rock Island. :-)
You should go for the Ruger.

This is a GREAT price on an awesome pistol, so much so that after a year of lusting after the SR1911 I finally ordered mine two days ago (they had only three of them and sold out in a matter of minutes) from Lanbo's and have been VERY impressed with the transaction so far.
Can't wait to get my new (first ever) 1911. 8-)

If you're 'on the fence' about getting one DO NOT hesitate. These SR1911s are still selling SO hotly, this will show 'out of stock' by tonight for sure!

Great price, but I think GrabAGun was actually a little cheaper because of their $5.99 shipping. I'm getting a quote of $15.62 from Lanbo's.

Still works out to be a good deal...just not the best I've seen on here.

True, but Grab-A-Gun has no inventory right now of course, Lanbo's does (at the moment). :-)

Decent price, great gun. I know, I've had one and have put well over 1000 rounds through it. Ruger did a great job with their "Made in America" 1911. Got mine in May 2012 and gave $650. so this isn't a bad price at all. If you're looking for a full-size 1911 you'll not regret buying this one.
