Description
Ruger® Security-9TM 9mm Semi-auto Pistol Born from the personal protection pedigree of the old Security-Six Revolver, the all-new Security-9 Pistol delivers the same solid construction, absolute reliability and affordable price that made its predecessor such a hit. But unlike the Security-Six Revolver, this is a modern firearm with modern materials and a modern ergonomic design that makes it easier to carry than other mid-size pistols. The Secure Action is derived from the reliable and proven hammer-fired LCP II fire control system, combining the smooth trigger pull of the LCP II with the short, crisp feel and positive reset of a single action. The internal hammer provides strong ignition force yet allows for easier slide racking—and won't catch on clothes or holsters when drawn. The low-profile safety is likewise very unobtrusive on the draw, but is still very easy to operate. The contoured grip tucks nicely into your hand, giving you easy access to the trigger and mag release. The grip itself is what Ruger calls a medium texture…it's not too aggressive, but still easy to hold onto. And the kicker? We tried it out in a few Glock 19 holsters, and it fit beautifully. It's easy to carry. It's a joy to shoot. For protection in a pinch, reach for the new Ruger Security-9, the ultimate mid-size carry gun. Compact for easy concealment, the mid-sized Security-9TM is designed to fit a variety of available holsters and concealed carry options Rugged construction with blued, through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel and high-performance, glass-filled nylon grip frame Precision machined, hard coated aluminum chassis with full-length guide rails Secure Action System combines the smooth trigger pull of the LCP® with the short, crisp feel and positive reset of a single action Dovetailed, high-visibility sight system with drift adjustable U-notch rear sight and fixed front sight Internal hammer provides strong ignition force, lessens the force required to work the slide, and won't catch on clothing Textured grip frame provides a secure and comfortable grip Safe, easy takedown with no special tools or trigger pull Safety features include bladed trigger safety; manual safety; neutrally balanced sear with significant engagement and strong spring tension; and hammer catch to help prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled Includes two 15-rd. magazinesOrder today! have u seen the new 19x? nuff said. ruger can't even touch glock especially with all the new products. sell youresmith and sig and step up to a mans gun lol loser
Exactly they’re just mad that there sidearm isn’t as reliable
Glocks are for pussies they can't carry 1911 cuz they need a little Palmer handgun ..... I still take my 1911 GI over everything or my Colt Commander? You're probably that dumbass that was on the other thread saying that guacs were going to replace revolvers in a couple of years
Keep that unreliable 42 oz 8 shot pos then . I bet you don’t even ccw that gun lol
I agree, glocks are for pussies. I do sell glocks in my store and %95 of the people that buy them are complete douche bags.
Dude.. You get hot over other peoples gun choices. LOL.
That's funny
So many of these guys do. I honestly don't understand it! Buy what ever you want. I sure don't give a shit!
Happy New Year to the rest of you that aren't assholes!
It's like car guys debating Ford vs Chevy.
That shit never ends.
Hilarious. I look for gun deals here but I also use it for entertainment purposes. I just look for items with dozens of comments and viola. I actually have 1911's, glocks and everything in between. How dumb am I? Or maybe homosexual? Come on trolls lemme have it!
They start calling you a homo and talk shit about your wife when they run out of ammo for their argument.
You're clearly a gun whore.. a dirty, dirty, gun whore.. willing to spread open your wallet for any gun that comes along..
me too :P
right handed only safety? sorry, no buy. Either need ambi safety or no manual safety at all for us lefties
They call it the Security-9 because security guards love it and this is the 9th generation handgun
my dad wasnt a security guard but he loved his.
Wrong, youre not even close try 1st generation gun its a brand new design. Why make shit up?
Your like Trump WRONG FAKE NEWS. My dad served as a cop in the mid 80's with a ruger and this had to be it. ruger only makes 1 or 2 9mm models.
RE; "ruger only makes 1 or 2 9mm models"
You'd better look again,,,,,.

SR9

PC Carbine (rifle)
All available in 9mm
Actually, Mr. Sweats, the Security 9 is named this because Ruger wanted to make this gun California compliant by making a single stack magazine that would both fit securely (security) and limit the magazine by only allowing 9 rounds (9). Innovation by USA companies like this makes me proud to be an American.
Don't quit your day job. Trolling isn't your forte.
It holds 15rds but nice try thinking you know something about guns...
You guys are so ill-informed, I suspect you might be joking. But if not: it's called the Security 9 because Ruger used to make a popular revolver called the Security Six. This gun's name is a callback to that gun.
Also, this gun will never be California compliant, no matter what size the magazine is, because California law now requires the gun to include microstamping, a technology that doesn't work. Ruger (along with Smith & Wesson) even made a point to announce about three years ago that they wouldn't be designing any new guns for California's idiotic laws.
In any case, why would they design a single-stack magazine to fit into a double-stack gun, when they could just use a limiter on the follower to limit the magazine capacity?
it has thicker walls to the clip. it is another clip you can get for it other thanthe ones it comes with. and it makes it california complant.
You did the “actually” thing.. lol. did you close your eyes and do air quotes when you replied? Yeah.. me funny
Well this might be the most painful thread I've ever read on here
I would agree thought we talking guns????
Yep,,, Comparable to the 3 Stooges trying to explain Evolution, with a dose of 'pizzen contest' thrown in,,,
Have often thought Management should consider allowing Members to block other Members posts from appearing on their screen. (We can already block "Deals", so why not Members?)
I really like the design of the trigger, hammer and safety system of the Security 9 as well as LCP II. It feels like a single action pistol without firing pin block, very clean break. It will sell well
The 'striker fire' craze is finally dying down,,, That's fine by me as it's hard to beat the trigger on a hammer gun, whether it's a concealed hammer or exposed.
Anybody know if any holsters are out there for this pistol?
http://shopruger.com/Centerfire-Pistols/products/5230/...
Looks like an exact clone size-wise as the S&W 2.0 Compact. Maybe fit Glock 19 holsters too. After-all, as they say, "designed to fit a variety of available holsters".
I have an SR9E with over 500 malfunction free rounds with different ammo. This is a nice handgun but not that much smaller then the 9E. 9E was shipped for $248.00 and bought 2 extras Mags for 31.99. It looks like Ruger was trying to build a handgun that is between the LCP 9mm and the SR9 if so this handgun should have been a little more compact with the same round count or a few less. On a side note come on Ruger start shipping guns with at least 2 magazines.
This one does come w/2 Mags, as all guns should (at a minimum). Love Ruger, but one mag is just ridiculous.
They built it to be the same size as the Glock 19.. very specific marketing
I think that was the first smart thing I've read on this post, is everyone else drunk? This thread is Hilarious but very Sad at the same time!
Same thought. SR9c is a great gun and you can plug in high cap mags (SR9) and even buy stabilizer cover/adapter for part of mag that protrudes. AND it came with two mags from factory as all guns should. It would be great if this gun would take SR9 mags as well!
I think this pistol Is gonna be one of the best values available as of now. From everything I've read these are great. One feature I like is they are not striker fired like most polymer pistols today. Instead they have an internal hammer which makes racking alot easier. Perfect for those who have hand or strength issues. What I would like to see next is a compact version of this, a double stack compact, not single like the LCP. Overall reviews are very good and the price makes this very appealing.
gitrdone.. That same guy shot through the ceiling with a cz p10c
