Born from the same DNA that made the centerfire Ruger Precision Rifle a hit, the new Ruger® Precision RimfireTM Rifle delivers competition-grade accuracy in a more affordable package. The Rifle comes outfitted with an 18" target barrel cold hammer-forged from 1137 alloy steel to create ultra-precise rifling. The barrel is attached in the same way as an AR barrel, so if you have AR wrenches and headspace gauges, you can work on the RPR too.

The one-piece chassis and adjustable buttstock assembly are crafted from glass-filled nylon for strength, stiffness and stability, providing a solid foundation for accuracy each and every shot. The Quick-Fit adjustable Precision Rimfire stock allows for easy length-of-pull and comb height adjustments to fit a wide range of shooter sizes, outerwear and shooting positions. Inside, the Ruger Marksman AdjustableTM trigger gives you a range of pull weights. Topped off with an M-Lok compatible free-float handguard and a 30 MOA rail, it's ready to push the .22LR to its limits.

And the best part? It maintains the same ergonomics, trigger, and manual of arms as the centerfire Ruger Precision Rifle—making this the ultimate training tool. If you can learn how to put the .22LR on paper at 250-300 yards, you'll be able to shoot a centerfire rifle at 1,000 yards. So whether you want a training tool for the centerfire Precision Rifle or just a highly-accurate .22LR plinker, the Ruger Precision Rimfire delivers.

I'm in the market for a bolt action .22.. I was considering the Savage MK II FV-SR for its threaded barrel, cheap price and excellent reputation, especially after installing the $150 Boyds Tacti-cool stock.

I can't help but wonder if this is the better choice. Plus I've got a ton of BX-25's while the factory 5rd Savage mags are reported to be poorly made and problematic. That's really it's biggest downfall.

Not really a fan of the look of this Ruger. Decisions decisions. I dunno.

I handled it at shot show 2018. It’s well worth this price. I’ll be picking one up after next bonus check.

Good grief this happens every freaking time I buy a gun! I just paid $530 for this same rifle and it came with no magazines at all. If anyone is curious, I do not work for any firearm company or gun store. So let me add a little:
If you enjoy cheap plinking but high quality, this is probably the best chassis style rimfire currently being mass produced. I expected a (too) lightweight polymer or cheap plastic stock, but was happily surprised to find it is made from machined aluminum and is extremely high quality for a .22lr bolt action rifle. The end cap has fine knurling and sharp, clean threads. It is railed for optics and ready for either QD or slot attached sling. It also has been prepped for attaching a bipod or bipod adapter. The Leupold VX-III I mounted on it works great and as most of my guns cost about the same as the gun. The trigger breaks crisp, although it does have a rather long takeup the clean break is nice. There is more I can say about this gun, but people tend to whine if I write much more. And yes, I do intend to demand a price adjustment on my Saturday rifle purchase.

Im not familiar with this gun, just seems odd having an adjustable stock, bolt action and heavy barrel for the underwhelming .22lr cartridge. It's like a setup you'd see more on a .308 caliber gun with a scope. But to each their own I guess

It is an excellent firearm and I would be surprised to see anyone complaining about it other than the really long trigger pull. Sure, there are chassis style rifles in larger calibers, but they start around $1000 and to get to a really nice one is $3000-$6000 and on up from there. For cheap shooting, suppressed shooting and to let my fourteen year old 90 pound daughter keep improving her skillset (she's a competitive shooter) this gun is fantastic. I have fully customized, custom built rimfire rifles she competes with that cost well over a thousand dollars. This is a steal.

This is my 3rd one & they are great. I shoot extreme long range with 308 & 338 Lapua but practice with this shooting golf balls at 200+ yards.

Totally agree. I'm surprised that any gun enthusiast would diss the .22 lr, seems like a staple cartridge.

Compared to 1500 for an Anshutz this is a smoking deal. If it performs......

With a bolt and adjustable stock, you'd think they'd make it in a larger caliber

It's really targeted for precision shooting which is a lot of fun with a 22, get out there and shoot bottlecaps or try and split cards etc at 75-150 yards.

Ammo is cheap for .22 and just as fun to shoot as larger rounds for this purpose imho. I bought a savage a22 to do this with and it's a lot of fun, i'll shoot 300 rounds in one afternoon easy so I went semi instead of bolt but this would be more accurate than mine :)

Uh they do make them in larger calibers. The original Ruger Precision Rifle starts at .233 on up. Unless I'm misunderstanding your meaning.

Wish they has a 9mm or 10mm at this price. I just can't justify spending over a couple $100 for a .22. Nice setup though. Ruger makes some great looking guns.

Who the hell makes a 9mm or 10mm bolt action rifle?? And if you think this is expensive, then you don't know anything about precision target rifles.

That was his point, moron. No one does. I would love this in 10mm. You must be one of those idiots who would pay $500 for an air rifle because it has precision in its name.

yea i thought 400 for a 22lr was a joke at 1st..
when they drop to 250ish ill jump.. but until then no thanks.. my 10/22s are pretty accurate already for under 2xx.
