Same price for Howa HCR 1500 in 6.5 Creedmoor from your LGS, give or take. Would rather the Creedmoor.

I am kicking myself in the ass for not smashing the buy button as soon as I read the add. Any chance of getting a deal like this again soon? Thanks!

I bought as soon as I saw it, Cabela's just cancelled my order today....

Unfortunately, it’s a bit doubtful this will happen again in the near future. That said, I have been wrong on this sort of thing before. It’s pretty rare these go for this low of a price. My bet is Cabela’s was closing out a lot of inventory for year end.

I’d pick one up at this price if it was for the 308.

Cabelas will not charge a transfer fee if you purchased/ordered from them and had it shipped to store for pick up. My only hassle is with having to wait anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 hours before taking possession. Take a ticket at the gun counter to wait to helped (yes, it does NOT matter that you’ve already paid, you still gotta wait your turn with the general line). Than comes the electronic paperwork. It gets typed in and than more waiting for the actual heck to happen. This can take up to an hour.

Go to your LGS and you’re in and out in maybe 15 to 20 minutes tops.

Billycee you are 100% correct on Cabelas ridiculous, incredibly time consuming(wasting) gun purchasing process (hassle). I am in and out of my local LGS in 5 minutes or less, we know each other now and always have pleasant conversations. I try to time my gun pickups at Cabelas for opening or another not so busy time during the week to minimize the hassle of buying a gun from them.

It does take freaking forever...... you would think they would have streamlined it by now....

Ruger no longer makes this rifle in 223. Not sure if/when this caliber will return.

As a reply to Shebie. Cableas won't charge you to pick it up in your store unless you buy it another state and have it shipped to a Cabela's in your state (FFL Transfer Fee). This would not make any sense if there's a Cabela's in your state.

Tax is $56 for me in my state. I might bite at the $600 Mark using 20 % off gift cards to lower the price and compensate for the 7% tax in my state.

So is this basically a $800 bolt action AR 15 with a better trigger and barrel?

If you have a dicks sporting goods call them and tell them to price match gunprime.com or grabagun.com it's a $999. They will price match it, that's what I did.

Just say NO to DICKS!

I've ordered a few lately through Cabelas.com and they charged $0.01 to the invoice to pick it up, since I paid in full on my credit card. So if the store is in your home state, you will pay sales tax, though. With that said, there are others cheaper than Cabelas, unless you have points and the 18% off gift cards.

I'd buy it, but I'm worried they might charge me to pick it up in-store.
