Description

Ruger adds its unique fingerprints to the Pistol-Caliber (PC) Carbine Semiautomatic Rifle with the versatility of simplified takedown for compact rifle storage and transport in addition to the added adaptability of interchangeable magazine wells for use of common Ruger and Glock® magazines. Simple takedown enables quick separation of the barrel and forend assembly from the action. All you have to do is confirm rifle is unloaded, push the recessed lever, twist the subassemblies and pull them apart. Custom tungsten dead-blow weight shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise. Heat-treated, chrome-moly steel bolt delivers strength and superior structural integrity. CNC-milled from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum billet, the receiver includes an integrated Picatinny rail and is type-III hard-coat anodized for maximum longevity. Proven-reliable 10/22® trigger components offer the confidence of a light, crisp trigger pull with minimal over travel and positive reset. Cold hammer-forged, chromoly steel barrel with ultraprecise 1:10 rate-of-twist rifling ensures exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. Barrel fluting sheds unnecessary weight and promotes quick handling. The 1/2"-28 threaded barrel with included thread protector gives you the option to add standard muzzle accessories. Built-in sighting system features adjustable ghost-ring rear-aperture sight and non-glare, protected blade front sight. Durable, glass-filled nylon synthetic stock has sling swivel studs for rapid sling attachment. Proprietary texture on the stock grip promotes confident control. Use the forward-mounted accessory rail to attach a variety of under-barrel accessories such as lights or lasers. Add spacers (three .5'' spacers included) to the soft rubber buttpad to customize for different shooters or to match clothing layers or defensive gear. Reversible magazine release and charging handle allows ambidextrous use or one-handed control manipulation while maintaining a proper firing grip. Includes Glock-compatible magazine well, hex wrenches for rear sight adjustment, buttpad spacer adjustment and charging handle removal. Made in USA.

Awesome gun got it in today. only issue is screwing in the extra stock spacers be careful, I was drinking and screwed too tight and popped the plastic inside the stock and broke.

Always use protection, that's how kids are made.

Shot this carbine this past weekend, shoots nice. A bit on the heavy side for such a little PCC but the weight is mostly up front which tames most recoil the carbine does have (very little recoil in general). Also, it is nice that the carbine excepts Glock mags, however if you are into the "hi cap" mags they obnoxiously stick out too far for my cosmetic appeal. Either way, great gun and fair price with anything under MSRP.

The 'takedown' aspect at first seemed to me to perhaps be something that not all folks would want/need, but,,,, once you take into consideration certain unique internal design characteristics of this rifle, the "TD" aspect could be part of a larger plan to enable the user to change calibers.
That would be interesting,,,,

If Magpul ever works their magic on this thing it’ll be a must-have

This isn't a deal, it's MSRP...which means it's about the highest price you could expect to pay for it.

MSRP is $650 confirmed by Ruger's website. Cheapest I've seen them was $510 but that was +shipping for the unthreaded barrel one I believe.

Ok I misspoke, but I don't see this being a great deal-- brownells, grabagun, sportsman's outdoor, grice, and every other online store I checked in a quick google search are all cheaper than cabela's by at least 20 bucks. would be pretty good if you have gift cards but if not then this is about the worst price I could find.

Cabela's is pretty good about having items in stock and shipping but since they are in almost every state.....sales tax added too.

When I picked up the one I ordered from KyGunCo Friday the FFL looked up the wholesale price on it for me. $425. Said he couldn't get any though. Doubt we'll see any at $400 for a while unless large volume dealers get a big discount.

Maybe black Friday 2018. I'm betting $475 shipped is about the best we'll see.

Wait until later this year after the hype dies off and these start selling for what they're actually worth. Which is $400 tops.

This rifle would be banned by what the dim-ocrats just sumnitted for their 2018 AWB. Just saying.

$400 would be nice but unless Ruger comes out with a more basic model I don't see it happening. Takedown carbine with a fluted and threaded cold hammer forged barrel is not cheap.

Well, if you use discounted gift cards from SVM (20% off), you can already get it for $439.20+tax @ Cabela's.
Very tempting, especially with Delaware store being around 2hrs drive for me (=no tax)

Durn taxes,,, For me, it's full purchase price + tax, ($549 x 8.25%, total of $595.38) and then use the gift cards to pay the ~595~. Lately, the SVM cards are 82 for a 100, so ~bottom line~ for me would be roughly $490 out the door.
Either way, no matter where you are, the cards do make a difference!
