I bought one. Good reviews on Youtube. How can you go wrong with this for a EDC ? It might need a fluff and buff. We will see.... Thanks

Just picked one up from Cabela's for 219$ on sale. Used my 100$ gift cards I got for 80$. Took it straight to the range out of the box and put 200 rounds 115gr reloads through it. Let me say this is the best 200$ carry gun you can get. Not one hickup. Fed the ammo without any issue.. I prefer the fixed sights it. I would highly recommend.

I found this one at my local Attwoods Ranch store for $219. I am a Store manager and we were robbed by gun point recently, so this is going to be my next purchase for those little bastard next time.

Worth it. The trigger is nice. It has a little bite on it since it is small. Best 200$ carry gun you can get in 9mm.

Love my LC9S and see no reason this one would be any different. Kudos to Ruger for American manufacturing of quality firearms at Brazilian prices.

I really want to buy this but I think I'll be sorry it doesn't have 3 dot sights when I take it to the range. The price is hard to beat though, I wonder if it will be higher or lower when it's been on the market for a few months?

I agree, KCSteve. I really do like the trigger on the LC9s too. I'd just rather not "modify" a carry gun. In all seriousness, I'd still probably carry the KLCR in the pocket over any pistol even if Ruger built the Unicorn I requested. Man, why all the thumbs down on my post? I'm not hating on Ruger. I carry my 327 about 90% of the time & the Walther is perfect for every other occasion. Both are boringly reliable & accurate.

Ruger is loopy. I asked them several times since the LC9s and Pro came out to please make a model with the safety that doesn't have the mag disconnect. I even asked if they'd remove the disconnect if I bought a non-Pro model & they said no. I will never own a gun with mag disconnect safety & I don't have or like safeties on carry guns. The trigger on the s is lighter than I would like for pocket carry. I'll just stick with my KLCR .327 and my P99c 9mm for everything.

Dude, relax, the mag disconnect can be removed, just search YouTube for instructions. If you dont feel comfortable doing it yourself, I'm sure a gunsmith can help you out for about an hour's time to break down the trigger group. The trigger is so sweet, I too wanted a thumb safety and was willing to live with the mag disconnect to get it, even though I had carried a Keltec PF9 for seven years that didn't have a safety. That pretty much demonstrates how much better the striker fired trigger on the LC9s was versus the DAO of either the PF9 or original LC9. The one advantage of the long heavy pull was confidence you wouldn't pull it by accident! I agree with you, the best of both worlds would be thumb safety with no mag disconnect but the manufacturer, both their marketing department and insurance carrier, makes that decision. I intended to remove my mag disconnect but frankly it hasn't been that big of an inconvenience to justify the mod. I decked mine out with the laser that bolts to the side thru the frame pins and Tritium sights but in retrospect, I would have forgone those upgrades if the much cheaper EC9s was available then. For me, its been a reliable shooter with 115gr FMJ and JHP brass ammo and at 17.2 oz is lighter than most competitors except the PF9 and Diamondback DB9 at 11oz.

I don't get it...Ruger ditches replaceable sights and mills the sights into the slide, and that somehow drops the MSRP $200?

2 votes

IMHO, the MSRP of the LC9s/Pro was too high considering it came in a cardboard box and only one mag, which is why the real world has seen the price come down to the $260-300 range once the initial rush was over.

Is that the only difference?

The finish on the slide and barrel is also different. LC9 is blued, EC9 is cheaper black oxide.

The MSRP difference just shows how ridiculously inflated the LC9 MSRP is, since it's routinely available for around $300.
