Description

This .22LR / 9mm upper receiver assembly is made from forged 7075-T6 aluminum and is finished in armor black cerakote. comes in a slick side configuration and the ejection port door is sized for 9mm and 22LR. The brass deflector is kept in place to help protect you face from gas blow back.

.22LR and 9mm AR builds both use direct blow back, which creates more gas to the face than usual. Although the brass deflector is not necessary for these two calibers, it helps mitigate gas to the face.

Cerakoted in Armor Black, which has a slightly gray hue when compared to Anodized products.

Cerakote is on thick and may require light fitting.

I’ll stick with an optimized AR-15 upper for 9mm conversion. Then I have options

On the ejection port door topic, un case anyone is still wondering. I went with the Rainier and regret it. The door is nice but the anodize is awful. Doesn't match any handguards or lowers I've mated it to. It still sits stripped in the safe. Fugly.

Wish someone would make a true slick side, but leave the port door.

I don't want an FA, this one doesn't but it has been ground down, not forged without like the aeros. I also don't need a brass deflector for my 9 or 22. And I want my door, don't remove it like this one has been

What else would you remove? The only remaining protrusion is a brass deflector and it's rounded which makes getting snagged on clothing or brush unlikely.

The Rainier Arms .22 / 9mm slick side upper is very similar to this one except it accepts a port door. The ejection port on these is for the .22 / 9mm spent cases keep in mind.

What I find intriguing is that you can get the regular .223 slicks for less than they want for the compromised 9mm/22lr design. WTH would I want to spend my hard-earned FRN$ on this abortion?

Literally only for 9mm or 22lr. It is nice for 9mm because it doesn’t have the gas tube hole which is not needed with most 9mm builds. It is especially a sharp looking upper with the CMMG bolt as it doesn’t have the gap like most uppers have wibetween the barrel and upper

Who's ever going to notice there's a gas tube hole in my upper when the hand guard is in place? It's not like 9mm or 22lr is going to put added stress on the upper so the extra material in a non-existent gt hole would be of benefit... I still just don't get it.

CMMG .22 BCG and barrel I meant to say generally look slightly funny in a standard AR upper but look great with this upper!
