I had one years ago, I bought it to see what 1911s were like. It shot well imo, solid feel in the hand, no issues running brass ammo. I no longer have as it was to heavy to ccw for 8 round capacity.
At this price it is better than the non branded versions from ATI.
IMHO $369.49 is $300 more then what it’s worth.
5 years going strong. Doesn't like cheap aluminum ammo but what pistol does.
I got one about 2 years ago. Fantastic shooter never jammed never had any issues. Worth the money and would buy it again
Screwed up several of my orders and bad costumer service. Stupid to pay someone to screw you. Never again!
Owned one of these for a few weeks now. Things shoots great. Amazing value.
Nice plain Jane basic M1911. Good price with a surprising trigger. Loved mine, traded for a SIG 220 (along with some $$)
I have a Citadel, which I believe is the exact same gun as this however imported by different company (both made by Armscor). Great gun and very reliable.
Sabastian- I personally don't think the rock island/armscor is the same POS it was 6yrs ago, I own both. 6 or 7 yrs ago I was shopping for an elcheapo 1911, I rented an ATI and a RI, both milspec, at the local indoor range. I came home with the ATI. things have apparently changed at armscor. after I shot the neighbors new RI last summer, it changed my mind about RI. I've since gotten a milspec 10mm and am considering a loaded tac ...
and woohoo is right shooting low is really easy to fix with a file and some cold blue
I've been debating between this and an American tactical 1911, I've heard these have trouble feeding rounds with certain magazines, but the American tactical I've heard shoot low even right out of the factory, any insight?
Shoots low? At what distance was it designed to be zeroed at? Why not learn the POI? You can always shave down the front sight if aiming high isn't your thing. I would rather a reliable gun with a predictable impact point than a unpredictable gun.
Excellent firearm I’ve been waiting on a deal for the tactical 9mm model
I'm not sure if you like 10's but they just released the 10mm within the $400 range
How come there are never deals on their 9mm versions?
Un American ? Is telling someone what they shouldn't buy.
I agree. You shouldn't tell them where anyone what to do. Land of the free. As I want to believe. But I do own a glock and a sig. But not all of us have funds for AM. Buy American if you can. That's the point . The gun community needs to stop hating on each other on here. As our rights are being stripped! STATE BY STATE!
Don't buy foreign made 1911's , it's anti- American to do so
It's made in the Phillipines on old Colt machines. During WWII, Colt actually ran manufacturing out of the Phillipines to get weapons to soldiers in the Pacific theater faster and cheaper. After Colt closed shop following the war, a local outfit bought out the machines (maybe the facility, not sure) and called themselves Rock Island Armory (owned by ARMSCOR today). I'd take one of these with a smile on my face any day.
As you type on a foreign made computer, looking at a foreign made monitor, while using a foreign made cell phone, while wearing foreign made tighty whities, while probably driving a foreign made car, while probably unloading groceries from Walmart which carries almost nothing made in America...
This company and Springfield are boycotted for betraying us. Never will buy there firearms again.
Another uninformed and unintelligent individual. I doubt if Springfield or RR is really hurting from idiots like this.
You are mistaken. Rock River Arms is the bad boy not Rock Island Armory- two different co's. I have the Tactical RIA and its a very good gun, well built and accurate. just needs to stay well lubed, typical of 1911's.
Don't know if these are mil spec and fully compatible but I had the chance to handle one at a local gun shop and it was a very nice 1911 of the price. One of the guys that works at the shop eventually bought it with a grip change, it was really sweet. His had 'rock island' in white lettering on the side, I personally liked that, some people don't. For $400 buck or less, its a solid purchase.
I gots dis saam Glock Fotay. I bees bustin caps in a foools asz.
Dats gansta soooonnnn!!! Woootie woooo
My brain did a backflip trying to read that
I own one bought from here but it was the tac model same gun just has skeleton trigger , Novak sights, rounded hammer for $450 and I love this gun period . Nothing but great things to say about it amazed at fit and finish , no play, smooth light crisp trigger pull , would purchase again in a heartbeat very very happy with it. Functions well and accurate
These are great guns replicating a classic, but I'm holding out for the .300AAACBlackout model so I can fire sub-sonic assault bullets, suppressed from the prone. I heard that one's coming soon..Yeah? Anybody?
