  • Last one I had, the screw head on the mount popped off from the shaft of the screw while it sat mounted in a gun case. Odd size, very hard to find a replacement.

Just got mine in, setting 1 is practically off, takes to level 4 to be useful indoors. Haven't tried it outside in daylight yet. That aside, it's nice and light/small and probably a good option for home defense as it was plenty bright with my light on.

Bereli only gives you 30 days to return optics, Had a problem with a sig optic and when I called I spoke to a lady and went thru a hour of back and forth and she told me they cannot accept returns or warranty claims after 30 days, contacted sig their sending me the return thingy

Not sure if there was a specific production issue in the brightness. But I have had mine for 8 months And it is bright as hell. I like as just to have on initial new builds.

isn’t an aim point or even a primary arms. But it’s cheap as hell. Mount is good.
The dot also doesn’t starburst like some of the cheap ones.

I think it’s a good value for the dot you get.

Sorry I should have given it 4 stars.

After seeing comments on brightness, I had to check it out for myself. First, at 67 my eyes are no where they used to be..... Let me make this clear, I'm not attesting to quality or durability on these cheap red dots, but settings at 4 and above I had no problem seeing a bright red dot outdoors. I even pointed it into the sky right under the sun and still was very surprised how easy I was able to see. I bought 6 about 8 months ago when they were a little cheaper and been installing them on my low budget builds so that I can get on with testing the reliability and accuracy of each build without throwing a heap more money on other (expensive) optics that I would probably remove later anyway ....and so far no issues with these "very cheap" Riton optics

    I agree with RicochetRabbit.
I have used this scope and did not notice the dimness until I read these posts and compared. This dot is not extremely bight, but it is precise.
Its maximum brightness compares to level 7 (of 11) on my PA red dot. It is not as bright as the "fat" red dot on my $25 Fieldsport.
However, It is totally functional to me in the bright daylight on level 5 or max 6. Your results (eyes) may vary.
At this entry price range it is seems to be fairly well built. The clicks are precise and the QD 1/3 mount looks great.

I totally agree with Mr. Rabbit, I purchased two of these and have had the same experience.

Got one of these on sale but did not realise the brightness level is poor to say the least. I won't be able to use it outdoors so I won't use it at all. It never occurred to me anyone would make a red dot so dim as there is no point

    1 vote
    0 votes

    Precisely.

It’s like when an ex of mine purchased a new car some years back and there were no floor mats in it from the factory. When I approached the dealer about it, they chaulked it up to “her fault” for not reading the fine print on the order slip that read, “floor mats are a purchased upgrade.”

Who would assume a new car comes with no mats? Just like who would think a red dot (for a firearm) is not at least minimally bright to be used during daylight hours and outdoors?

This issue does not mean all Riton illuminated optics share this issue. Just wanted to make that clear based on previous commentors here.

I have lots of riton products I live in Tucson Az as I said before why are the Bereli comments so good if there so bad

    0 votes
    0 votes

Would you mind clarifying your comment and repost perhaps? Currently it reads like a run-on sentence without a clear question or intent.

It appears you are asserting the quality of unrelated optics (other than brand) you own equate to quality in this particular optic and batch, no?

How does living in Tucson relate to our discussion thus far or your own comment for that matter?

What is the root cause for you original question? In your comment you ask about Bereli. So are you discussing the optic (like we all have been here) or are you more interested in researching Bereli as a retailer?

Please repost so we can understand what you are attempting to ask…

Good question Ty998. I think Riton probably let a bad batch slip by quality control.

    It’s certainly possible.

What’s your personal experience with this red dot?

Too dim to use at any brightness setting. Got a refund from Bereli.

Last one I got was incredibly dim. Further, I ordered another item from Berelli and it has been five weeks and I have yet to get it. They claim it is now at an outside vendor and they can not track it. Giving one more week, and then I file a complaint with my credit card for a refund. They were a good company, but suddenly changed.

    Dang, Sorry to hear that.

I called them today and decided to return all four. they were super helpful and got me an RMA right away.

Bought 4 a month ago. Only opened 1 so far, dot is barely visible in daylight conditions.

Fresh batts, cleaned contact points, still dim.

    Prob a dud.

Same here Ty1998. I cant see a red dot at all on the first 3 settings. The next 3 settings are very dim. Riton told me it is dim because it is for low light use.

I just called them and it sounds like they think it’s a warranty issue. however, reading between the lines, I can tell they were saying it’s not going to be traditional red dot bright, but should be “sufficient” for most folks use.

Wow, thanks FA333. The crazy part is when I first tried it, it was aimpoint bright. and that was in the desert out towards
    CALI/NV.

Oh well that sucks. Tried to support a veteran owned company, but better luck next time.

on a positive note, I just picked up a ccw’s pistol that has their auto adjusting, micro red dot on it and it is daylight, bright and pretty good for a more budget option so far. you can tell it’s not gonna be that durable and I bet a single drop on concrete would probably destroy the housing but as far as like dry fire practice, the dot is pretty crisp and adjusts well indoors and outdoors.

Haven't heard anything back after sending two messages to Bereli.

I've seen Bereli offer those for $40 and for $60. If it's current sitting at $60, then maybe keep an eye on it, and hope it drops again. At $60, I'm tempted by better optics. At $40 with free S&H, it's really hard to argue against it for a plinker/range gun. For $40, that's "my first gun" level of cheap.

Cymond: Thanks for the link. Should work great on my Kel-Tec Sub2000 40S&W.

Not an option for me as I like being able to fold it. That's kind of the main selling point of a Sub2K. I went with a laser light on mine

If you’re way into your sub2k you can get the MCarbo flip-to-side optic mount to fix that prob, but you’ll spend half the cost of the gun to do it, fyi.

FYI: Riton's warranty is NOT lifetime on electronic optics (such as their red dot sights). They have switch to a 2 year warranty on these while maintaining a lifetime warranty on their other (non-electronic) optics. Still a GREAT deal and I jumped on it, but I did confirm this with their CS back when I purchased my MPRD2 (which I love).

Nice red dot w/QD mount for the money. I have a minor astigmatism and there is hardly any bloom with the dot. Clicks on the adjustment are crisp and knob is not difficult to turn. Shipping was 4 days from Miami to West Virginia. For $70 shipping included and no tax it's a great deal.(edit - $40 is an even better deal I'll probably get another one)

The Riton comes with a QD mount which is a nice bonus.

    4 votes
    0 votes

If the QD mount is a good one, that is indeed a nice bonus. To me, Vortex's long track record of good quality, great CS including hassle-free repair or replacements of defective/problematic products regardless of the cause puts them in the lead over Riton. Gundeals member "thriftygunshopper" stated below that Riton will have you pay shipping to them for an item that was DOA right out of the box. That's not a good sign in my eyes. If $$ was tight and there was a big difference in price, I might get a Riton over a Vortex. But when I catch the Vortex on sale for only $10 more that the Riton it's a no-brainer for me to choose the Vortex. You and others might have a different opinion than I do and that's fine. I respect the opinions of others to do as they see fit. I hope you have a Merry Christmas! :)

Pan, I agree, Vortex is VG, but only thing to me is they are made in China, and I don’t like giving my money to China who is not Americas friends IMHO. Be safe people wear ur mask lol.

They may not be our BFF but if you remove their money and products from our economy, then we’d be screwed bigger than Texas. And it’s totally our fault too. We just have a need to buy our products so cheap, then we act like we’re so smart because of it. Not to mention, we keep electing these criminals who keep sending American manufacturing jobs to China because it’s the only possible way to stay afloat. It’s ironic how capitalism can only thrive by sucking on the tits of a communist nation.

I grabbed one of these, and it's actually pretty nice. The dial sequence is off - level 1 - off - level 2 - off - level 3 - off, etc. I find it really convenient not having to turn it all the way to the first setting to shut it off, or turn through multiple settings to get back to the brightness I like. The glass is just as clear as my sig optics, but the sig optics have a little more weight and seem more robust. At $60 it's totally worth the price. Plus the company claims a lifetime, no questions asked warranty, no registration or proof of purchase needed.

I need some help: I can't get the QD to D...what am I doing wrong? Seems to be 2 pieces to the lever...so what am I missing? How do I get it to actually release? To attach I just unscrewed all the way and tightened since it is locked closed.

    Thanks!
