FYI, these guys are now making you get a quote via email and are saying it's due to "manufacturer" requirements, which is crap, because you can find any other number of sites selling these rifles that clearly post the prices on the product page.

In addition to that, they are charging an additional 3% surcharge on credit/debit card transactions. If you are using a debit card (regardless of whether processed as "credit" or not), this violates VISA/MasterCard agreements (which is a US rule... NOT state-dependent).

I replied with this email to them. If they will back off on the 3%, I will buy the rifle, simply because this is a good gun at a decent *current* price:

"I am interested in purchasing, however, by adding a 3% surcharge to my preferred method of payment (VISA debit card), you are breaking VISA's rules against minimums and surcharges on debit card transactions.

I am already a bit hesitant to purchase from you guys, based on all the negative feedback I'm reading about KYGunCo "gouging" during this stupid pandemic.

Please let me know if you intend to stand by your surcharge policy, which appears to me to be in violation of the standard VISA agreement companies accepting VISA debit card payments must adhere to."

A lot of companies do the whole email price quote thing. I’ve purchased quite a few firearms from them and have never had a problem. It also clearly states in their pricing that they have a cash option price or the one with a credit card fee. Not sure why you’re bashing them for that.

I ended up getting the blem PSA MOE one instead, for roughly $100 less. KYGunCo are just shady. Don't want to buy a gun from a company that lies.

My gen 2 has been flawless 2500 rds . The first gen had some issues but they have pulled it together, new production has been getting great reviews. All forged components.

Yup, I love mine. Had a small problem at first and their customer service could not have been more helpful. It’s a great American made gun for the price.

Horrible company with horrible business practices. Stay clear of Kygunco. There is a reason why their name starts with KY, you are going to need it.

20 years ago the wasr was the least desirable of the imported AK's.Now that true imports have dried up,everyone extols the virtues of the" mighty wasr".Still the same gun as I see it. I picked up the polymer version of the Riley Defense AK from Classic.Looks outstanding,500 rounds so far so good.Time will tell.

Shady company and shady rifle. I'll stick to my imports that are proven to last

Crap, had talked myself into getting one at $530 to go with my polymer one. At $600 I’ll wait.

Got mine from classic last year or so. Great ak. Great furniture and craftsmanship. Rivets and everything flawless.

Bolt is forged. This is going to be the all-American-made AK that does well imo. Have the polymer model, fantastic gun.

AK Operator's Union tested these with not so great results. If it were my money, I'd look into something else.

I think Robski could break an anvil in a day or less.
I'd never run a rifle as hard as he does.

Good price?

I'd love to be proven wrong but I assume the price is due to cast bolt. If it's like wasr I'm in but if it's just a pretty ras47 I'll pass. Comments from anyone who knows would be appreciated.

Buy a WASR. Don't waste your time with these. Nothing in the price range compares to a WASRs durability and performance.

It is great to get honest reviews, ideas, and good information. I hate people who come on here and say 'don't buy' or 'this is a POS' and not tell us why or what else we should buy. Classicfirearms has a review on the WASR... Rating: 4.8 - ‎97 reviews. Doesn't get much better than that. Unfortunately, that model is OOS.Thanks for the info!

A bit over $100 more and good reviews. Shop around and you can probably find it for less.

WASRs are the better choice, but iirc reviews on classic are curated pretty heavily. I would beware viewing that as an unbiased source.

According to the firearm's page at the trunion is forged not cast. No idea of the quality though.
