Description
This 5.56 chambered 16" Gov Profile Barrel is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with a QPQ Corrosion Resistant Finish and QPQ coated M4 feed ramp extension.
Quench Polish Quench (QPQ) is a specialized type of nitrocarburizing case hardening that increases corrosion resistance. It is sometimes known by the brand name of Tufftride, Tenifer Black Nitride or Melonite. QPQ is a huge improvement over Chrome Lined barrels. Unlike chrome lining, where the chrome is built up on the surface, QPQ converts the surface without the risk of dimensional build up. The technique is used when two or more of the following properties are required in a work piece:

FYI for folks:
These RTB in-house barrels are made by Ballistic Advantage. Side by side with the comparable BA barrel there is no discernible difference other than the logo. Much the same as BA does for Aero Precision, DSG, etc.
I have a small hoard of BA barrels and picked up one of RTBs to try against the comparable BA barrel head-to-head. Same form, same fit, same spot-on accuracy that you expect from BA.
Now, RTB just needs to source some fluted 223Wydle Premium series barrels. Hint. Poke. Nudge.
