The only reason to buy is for a collector item. Pistol itself is junk but you won't see many popping up these days. There was a rebate in 2018 giving these away for about $130.

Remington has been dissolved and these were being sold for paperweight money, there not quite nostalgic valued yet. Like say $450. These were never right but the RM380 was a decent little 380 look for those to pop up

These are terrible guns and I didn't buy one when they were being given away for around $195 18 months ago. Definitely should not be buying these pieces of crap at close to $480 when a Glock 19 Gen 3 can be had for a tad over $500.

Guns.com act like they belong to JJE Capital Holdings, just like PSA. ??? Google: JJE Capital Holding and see what they did during the Remington Outdoors sell off.

I had no idea they bought PSA! That explains a lot. Jamin McCallum was a good dude and I never understood until now how that store went from Hero to Zero.

One of the worst firearms ever made

I think I paid $199 about 3 years ago for this. Didn't keep it, very poor and cheap trigger.

Weren't these bricks selling for 180 last year with a rebate on top of that? Otd was like 150.

This gun looks like it's designed to be found at the bottom of a river by some YouTuber

I had one a couple of years ago, the Gen 2 model. Got rid of it after two weeks to some unsuspecting young fellow who just had to have one. Very cheap trigger.

Buyer beware. Read about the long troubled road for this gun and the recalls.

Made by remington within the last five years? I'll wait until it's $133. It's the r51 and the only good review I've ever seen for it was in these comments? I'll wait until it's $33.

I have one and its been flawless fo about 500 rounds , feels good in my hand, accuracy and single action trigger is good reminds me of my 1911. Personally I like it!

I thought they fixed the problems with this, no? I held one and they sure feel good in my hand.

Get an EC9s for $20 savings or an LC9s for $20 more.

I wanted this gun, but the bad reviews I see has caught up with it's price. I'm very happy with my EC9S like you recommended.

I thought the gun looked nice too until I started investigating.

Don't feel bad if you missed this or any of the others the soul-less multinational corp FreeDumb Arms is dumping. There are very good reasons these guns didn't sell worth a hoot! It ain't worth your life or your families is it?

I have one on the way. For $170 I just had to try it out lol. I also just got an RM380 and it has been good so far after 150 rds. Some times I just gotta stop reading all the reviews and opinions and find out my own self. For instance, earlier this year I bought a Kimber Micro 380. I've read so much negativity about Kimber, but the gun is great.

Like the phantom trigger problem they "fixed" on the 700. Still killing people

Baffled ...with all the info available online how uninformed some folks are. Remington redesigned and fired 1.3 million rounds fixing this guns previous issues. DO SOME RESEARCH. Truth About Guns review alone is enough for me to risk $169. Smoking deal on a quality concealed carry but what do i know?

Exactly $270.00 over priced.

I could be ignorant but aren’t all handguns manufactured by companies tested and fired before they’re mass produced. I mean you make a handgun you put it through testing and after a few thousand rounds or more you make the exact same copy and put them out to sell. What goes wrong during this process that makes so many guns malfunction.

I mean shit, now it's cheaper than a Ruger LCP, all-metal, in 9x19 and I could probably get it working with a metal file. If I had $200 to blow I'd do it.

That's a lot of money!

I have a perfectly good rock that can hold down papers on my desk. I'm sure it weighs enough but.. Geesh..

I really wanted to like this gun. Really I did. It's made in my old hometown in an old Chrysler building that used to employ many of my buddies' parents. Supposedly everything is fixed from the early issues, but I held it in my hand and ergonomically it felt like an brick. And I have owned a few Hi Points so that is saying something. Too bad.

Remington needs to produce this handgun like dogs need fleas . Get out , register and vote ladies and gentlemen .

Your vote doesn't count and never has.
Also, both candidates are lying, evil filth.
Voting for either is a disgusting choice.

Everyone lies, etc etc. But not everyone will be in the position to chisel away at 2A rights. Don't be an ignorant boob waiting and hoping for civil war / revolution and vote Trump.

Looks like Remington screwed the pooch again. I had hopes the Gen 2 "redesign" would fix the problems. RyeOnHam does a detailed breakdown in his YouTube tabletop review that shows some of the problems. Needlessly complex design + 2nd rate manufacturing + spotty quality control = an unreliable paperweight. Any number of major gun manufacturers could have pulled this off if they wanted to, but it was apparently beyond new Remington's reach despite modern technology. Too bad.

$350 too high.

I quite like the styling, I just wish they would source the construction to a quality firm like Walther or HK.

Yes, H&K should build it. That way it can be made of stamped sheet metal, plastic and cost $4000.

Looks like someone's never heard of the H&K VP9. That's a shame, because it's a hell of a gun for around $550.

You guys are falling over yourselves trying to show how smart you are. Those original guns are long gone, production was halted, and now Remington is releasing the redesigned gun.

Negative, I had heard of the re-release of this pistol on TFB weeks ago. Hence why I stated that I hoped they fixed their QC issues. Reading comprehension FAIL.

we're talking about the newly released gun. its a turd also.

I like the aesthetics of this gun, I hope they have sorted out their QC issues. But being that Remington is owned by Freedom group, I am not too optimistic.

yeah, its pretty bad. watch the video TFB TV did on these on youtube if you havent.

You beat me to the punch, Scott T. TFB.tv (and others) on YouTube ran a video review of the R51. All reviews I've seen report (a) it was accurate as hell, and (b) has LOTS of feed problems. Most brass-cased ammo fed fine but everything else "nose-dived" as he put it. Using steel-cased ammo he couldn't get more than 2-3 rounds in a row to feed. Since this is the Gen 2 version after the big recall, one wonders if that could be all for the R51. It's such a good-looking gun that so many people wanted it to succeed, but at the end of the day how a gun looks is the least important factor in a carry pistol.
