Bought one arrived in new condition scoped it in at 25 and 50 yards and ran a few hundred flawless rounds through it. Great rifle and scope combo for the price. My FFL told me he bought two of them a few years back and hasn’t had a problem with either.

I have had one for 7 years now and love it. Much better built out of the box than a 10/22, accurate and eats most ammo I throw at it. I find mine surprisingly accurate too. All-in-all, I've been extremely happy with mine!

Some of the very early production models had problems and some of the 30 round magazines (especially after market) have problems. If you are having problems, give Remington a call and talk with them, my guess is they will take care of you. If you have 30 round magazines with problems, disassemble them and use graphite lube on the spring and follower, that should take care of it. Also, I've heard of problems in other rimfire calibers with these.

Remington isn't the company they used to be, but I don't think any mainstream firearms manufacturers are. Everybody has tried to find ways to save money and remain competitive. It isn't their fault, its all the gun buyers. We want cheap guns.

How can you beat this deal? I'd take these over 10/22s which cost twice the price & FFS is great to deal with!

Friend had one of these he bought from Walmart. Complete and total garbage. Stopped working completely after about 2000 rounds. He fixed it once but it broke again about a month later. He ended up leaving it at my house and I threw it away.

I have had 4 friends buy them for the price and "name" despite warnings, all were junk. Its past time people wake up and realize that Remington isn't the company it was 30 years ago.

if you're buying a rifle, 2 magazines and a scope for $170, I would expect it need some work right out of the box.

Deburring, honing/smoothing feed surfaces and probably tweaking the magazines should be expected on a rifle this inexpensive.

Good deal but I am scared about Remington lately. Maybe I am over reacting. If there are no known issues with these I say go for it.

I have the camo version. I've never cleaned it and it sits a long time before each use and no problems even with the 30 rnd mags. I can't remember the last time I oiled it.

Either that didnt last long or it was a pricing error because they're $205.61.
