High price, AND a 2 box limit?

How many down votes does it take to have something removed?

missed it...

Two things...why is Cabela's price for this still so high, and why do folks here keep reposting it as a deal? No one should even consider buying this stuff at this garbage price.

Garbage price? Yes. But it's the "new price" and probably won't be coming down. People buy it at this price, so why would they drop the price?

Things have changed, unfortunately. I don't think you'll EVER see the price drop back down to pre-Obama prices. Will the price go "back to normal" if we boycott it at this price? Maybe. I doubt it, though.

BTW, last time I as in a Cabelas store, I could get this ammo at this price and the limit was something like 600 rounds.

You'd better be at the front doors 20 minutes before they open. The crowd rushes in every morning and they go straight to the ammo section. It's crazy stupid. Four or five boxes for 30 people....just plain dumb.

This will continue prices will keep going up. i buy online little by little. shoot and always replace the ammo

I bought a box of 525 ct golden bullets at walmart yesterday for 23.99. Cabalas has been good to us in the past few years for not price gouging as bad as others, but the price for this box of 100 needs a explanation for sure lol

22lr thieves. There's no way that they should still sell them only 1 per customer per day

2 votes
0 votes

These should be 6-7 cpr. Only Cabela's sell golden bullets for more than mini mags.

2 votes
0 votes

Please post here if you have seen them anywhere for this price. I haven't in years. SHOULD BE and EVER WILL BE AGAIN are two different things, unfortunately.

wal mart was selling them a year ago at that price, and I purchased a 1400 rnd bucket from gander for $80 recently, that is less than 6 cents per round and the link is on their website, check for yourself if you like

Bought the golden bullets at cabelas and midway in the 525 packs several different times last year for $24.99 which is .0476 per round. At the same time I was bought some mini mags for $8.99 per hundred pack( .0899 per round) This was in November 2014. Now Cabelas is selling golden bullets for 10 cent per shot which is more than double the price but the mini mags are still the same price. If I am going to pay 9-10 cent a shot I'm getting mini mags not cheap assed golden bullets that have always been half the price of mini mags. For some reason cabelas and some others have decided they are going to gouge on the golden bullets. Don't fall for it they are no where near a 10 cent round.

Fair enough. I've been buying exactly the same packs as you. I'm also not seeing them anywhere else for cheaper. My local gun store isn't selling the for cheaper than Cabela's, that's for sure--when they have some.

Most other calibers have recovered from the ammo scare, but not .22LR, unfortunately. It seems they have found out we'll pay the higher prices, so why drop it back to pre-scare prices? Even if we don't buy it at these prices, there are still plenty of people out there who will. :( And they know it.

I actually got a couple packs of these the last time I was in my local Cabela's. Same price, but you can gt 500 rounds of any type. So that means you could get five of these of the shelf during a single visit. I didn't get that many, and they didn't last long in the store. I recommend checking occasionally, tho.

Five cent ammo for ten cent is in no way a deal. Mini mags are less and much better quality. Cablela's gouging on these.

The people that bought these for $9.99 per box of 100 . 10 cents a round . just paid $52.50 for a 525 Brick box of golden bullets . if i was not stocking for my personal shooting needs i would gladly sell my 525 boxes to people like the ones here who bought this for 10 cents a round . more than double my money. can't get that in the bank

Shit ammo for a shit price. Anyone who says this is a good deal is a fool.

6 votes
2 votes

Perfectly fine ammo, but yeah, this price is crazy. I ordered a bucket from Gander today for 5.7 cents per round delivered to my door. Then again, pre-crazy Cabela's prices on ammo always sucked and I never bought from them.

2 votes

Why do you say this isn't good ammo? What makes it bad compared to other top ammo brands, such as Federal and Winchester?

2 votes
1 vote

It shoots dirty as hell and many semi-auto's have problems with golden bullets cycling properly. I don't need bullets that don't work in some firearms, I just buy ones that work in all the ones I own then I don't have to worry about it. Golden bullets used to be regarded as the bottom of the barrel .22 ammo - this is priced as if it's top tier. It's not.

2 votes
0 votes

It's not *that* dirty - all 22LR is dirty. And I can say after running it through 30 or so pistols and rifles, MOST semi-auto guns have zero problems cycling it.
But I'm all to happy if everyone else avoids the ammo based on internet rumors. lol

All yours. What I said was based on my own experience not a 'crazy internet rumor'.

1 vote

I totally agree with you. They're probably not much dirtier than Federal or Winchester, if they're any dirtier at all.

.09 cents a round for probably the cheapest .22lr you can buy???? Do they require you to do store pickup so they can bend you over at the customer service desk and give it to you again when you pick them up?

2 votes

They're always exceedingly nice at the desk when I pick things up. But it is a long drive, which sucks.

The last time I was at my local Gander Mountain probably around 6 months ago, I bought a 525-round brick of these for $24.99, so $2.38 per box of 50. They also had 500-round bricks of Federal .22lr for $24.99. Hopefully people still aren't paying outrageous prices like $7.99 per 100 rounds.

the only 22 lr 100 round box i would buy for $7.99 would be CCI Mini Mags@8 cents around. everything else is under 8 cents a round. this remington is .04,.05 cents a round ammo . not .08 cents

8c a round? This is CCI price.

Horrible deal. These are available at Academy all the time for less than 5 cents per round. Who posts this crap?

1 vote
0 votes

Probably posted by someone who is, like me, 400 miles from the nearest Academy... but 10 miles from the local Cabelas... and doesn't want to go the local Walmart at dawn to wait in line to maybe get a box of ammo.

Great deal? Nope... but it gives a guy options if he wants something cheaper than centerfire to shoot with his kids.

NOT FOR GOLDEN BULLET!

This deal is for Remington Sub Sonic ammo. Picture and title are misleading. FAIL!

When .22 ammo for 7 cents a round doesn't sell out within a few hours (like this), it's probably not a good deal.

You are not buying what is pictured! If you look at the different pic on the Cabelas website this is for the SUB SONIC 100rd box. NOT GOLDEN BULLET! Read the entire cabelas add online before buying!

I'll wait on for my backorders. Probably a year from now it will ship.

I've been ordering nearly every chance Cabelas shows .22 in stock and I get it to store within 10 days everytime.

1 vote

I have back orders still out from Nov. Dec. and Jan. Cabela's probably will never make good on those.
Walked in and for my first time in months they had stacks of cci mini mags, then nothing for weeks, then my neighbor walks in and there sits 100 bricks of blazer, it's like Christmas in there sometimes.

Sorry just saw that was 100rd boxes, that's still way too much, $37 if it were in brick quanity

I was just messing with you lol. It is a little high compared to what I paid on monday for the same round! Since this shortage started I have been grabbing any 22lr rounds I can find under 8 cents! My whole family loves to shoot and my son just got a Ruger SR 22 for christmas so I try to keep rounds on hand at all times to keep everyone smiling!!

1 vote

That would be over $70 for a brick at that price, they were selling the 525 boxes for $23.99 couple weeks ago, that is crazy.

Are you a federal government accountant?? They were selling it on Monday for $23.99, I got some of that too!

Good grief, it is still in stock after 7 hours. Must be that even desperate people choke at 7.5 cents per round for this stuff.
