These things are great. I use them all the time. Easiest thing in the world, you just hold one end down the wrap the other en around that. Do not use these as a way to holding off from using the bathroom. That’s an area you should not tourniquet.

I wouldn't pay $15 for something you should know how to do with a stick and a sock, or a lock-knot and some paracord. Life isn't a video game you can't go out there with every piece of equipment.

im not posting to be safety police as others. i don't think such a bad deal, not as good as other Tourniquets but other than the draw back of wrapping around extremity multiple times seems to be fine and good price compared to others. but i can do same thing with bungee cord

A tourniquet in the hands of an amateur is a great way to ensure an amputation.

One girl bled to death in the Pulse club shooting hiding in a stall. Even an amateur would have saved her life. I'd rather lose a limb than my life.

Says the guy who doesn't take tourniquets into nightclub bathrooms. A belt, bra, torn up t-shirt, etc would have also also worked. Strange none of those "amateurs" (as you called them) saved that poor lady's life with all of those functionality similar items that were sure to be in abundant supply. Seems like having a tool and knowing what to do with said tool aren't the same thing after all.

Yeah but chances are none of the people there were the tourniquet buying type and so also not likely to know common alternatives either. If a person is the type to buy one to carry at all they're likely to know what the grab to use when the one they bought isn't at hand.

So the example was hugely flawed then.....exactly my point.

That sounds like an amateur's statement. You have around two hours before permanent damage takes place. On top of that when it comes to taking a dirt nap or having and amputation, I'll take the amputation.

2 hours before lack of blood flow causes permanent damage to human issue? Okay....yeah.....and I bet you also cauterize wounds with a blowtorch. Tourniquets are invaluable medical tools but like any tool you need to understand the proper usage. ‘When all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.’

No amateur, two hours before the tourniquet itself causes damage that may be irreversible. Sounds like you need to reconsider where you're getting your information/training.

You are absolutely right that a PROPERLY placed tourniquet can be left on for up to two hours. I am talking about IMPROPERLY applied. I would suggest you stop reading between the lines and actually read what is on the page itself. Again, we are speaking about an amateur....someone that does not know that they can cause nerve damage, gangrene, etc if used incorrectly or left on too long. Or if applied improperly can still allow bleeding while restricting blood flow. Please do not think I am insulting you as your are obviously a medical professional but stating that the use of these items are not part of some ingrained genetic memory and require TRAINING to use.
