Does this rifle actually have a 41V50 CMV steel barrel and mid-length gas system? I’m seeing this rifle w/same UPC code elsewhere with specs of 4140 and carbine length gas system.

Good observation. Radical Arms official site states this model has a carbine length gas system, and a 4140 CMV barrel. https://www.radicalfirearms.com/FR16-556SOC-12FCR-p/fr16-5.56soc-12fcr.htm...

Great company, great products. This is a better rifle than Palmetto, and they are not price gouging like PSA is. Better than all of the entry-level and most of the mid-level rifle manufacturers.

Palmetto isn't price gouging. They're responding to demand like everyone else. Their rifles are still reasonably priced. This is being sold by primary arms so the pricing has nothing to do with radical. You sound like you work for radical.

Price gouging is charging $650 for ammunition that costs $350. People should not be foolish enough to buy it but they do. Or doubling the price of a PSA lower or firearm. That goes against their mission statement but they obviously didn’t read what they posted. Primary Arms is selling a nice rifle at a reasonable price. I speak from experience on at least a dozen Radical rifles, not an upper from 5 years ago. And your response makes you sound like a jackass.

I bought a radical upper in 2016 wasn't impressed. Have they upped their quality since then?

I know it's $200 more but this is a nice Ruger.

Lot's of upgrades and that includes a very nice trigger.
Buy once, cry once I guess. This starter gun is a keeper.

No problem, but they raised it $50 since I posted! Was once even $560 FYI. https://gun.deals/product/preorder-ruger-ar-556-mpr-556mm-18-30-rnd-multi-purpose-rifle-55999...

lol. You're right. I'm not in a rush. Just looking for a good AR at a great price.

I have a Radical 10.5in 300blk, it shoots great.
At this price range, I would also consider the Ruger 556 and PSA. This one doesn't have backup sights.

You have to include tax, shipping, and FFL fee in overall calculation.

Anyone got any opinions on this? Looking for my first AR.
