4.95 Stars out of a possible 5 Stars on buyer reviews, with a 100% customer satisfaction rate, and ZERO buyer remorse. I was able to find a total of 40 owner reviews today, 38 were 5 Stars, 2 were 4 Stars, but both of those stated, they were happy with their purchase. These numbers are exceptional.
Here is a Labor Day deal on a two-stage Nickel-Boron trigger for $59.99 shipped. https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/2-stage-nickel-boron-trigger...

Was this $100 cheaper a few days ago with a coupon? I was on the last page of checkout and for some stupid reason I said... nahh Ill check with my wife first... got the go ahead and now I think its $100 more. Rookie mistake.

Price came back down. Now's your chance.

Yep. It was priced at $509.99 and promo code "SAVE12" brought the price down to $448.79. That code isn't valid now. When you see a deal like that, instead of asking for permission first, it might be better to ask for forgiveness later :) - Maybe PA or some other seller will have a similar deal for their Labor Day sale?

I have the SOCOM 5.56 it is similar and awesome! This is a great gun.

its certainly nice to see gun prices being fairly reasonable in alot of cases. I just wish ammo was on the same team... its like buying a new sportscar but gasoline is $50.00 a gallon... ugh. Enough with the price gouging, panic buying bullshit! There is NO reason whatsoever for ammo to be the price it is. No shortage of components, no lack of manufacturers, The goverment is not buying it all up, retailers are not being shorted or refused in store stock... its simply panic prices, retailers price gouging and wealthy people paying the prices and hoarding it. If people would stop buying ammo at these ridiculous prices for just one week, we would see prices fall drastically. I know thats a ridiculous statement as its not possible but it is the fact.
Prices are staying so high simply because there are people out there who are paying the current prices. Plain and simple...
as always this is my personal opinion and I will respect yours, so please do the same. We are all in this together as gun people regardless of age, race, creed, political views, etc...

My gripe is not with radical but with primary arms. 10 days into ordering a different one of radical ar's and still not shipped. Many online retailers are selling stock before it actually gets into physical inventory. I no longer do business with Primary. Very disappointed. To much greed showing up now.

At this time it can take up to 20 business days for FFL orders to ship from PA. They inform folks of this in a blue box above the "add to cart" button on the firearm/FFL item pages.
"We are fully staffed and processing orders. Standard orders are shipping in approximately 2 business days or less. FFL orders take approximately 20 business days or less if you can provide us an actively receiving FFL location. Due to high demand, there is a limit of 5 FFL items in a 30 day period."

They are up-front about it, so I wouldn't fault them. I do fault sellers who repeatedly keep pushing orders back. I don't think PA is like that.

The only thing I didn’t like was the carbine gas system but it looked like mid length in the picture. I then went to Primary Arms website and it’s listed as mid length there. Not like carbine length is bad - my preference would be mid length. The stock and grip are one of my favorites - basically put an optic on this rifle and it’s good to go. It’s refreshing to see such a reasonably priced rifle. Possibly the best AR deal out there for sure.

The one you got was carbine gas? These are supposed to be mid length! This was off this recent listing or a different one?

I think he is speaking of the gas system length shown in the description here on this gundeals page above being wrong. Carbine length is shown above, mid length is shown on PA's website.
So far, that makes two instances of mistakes that have been spotted in the description above by commenters - gas system length and barrel material

Primary Arms listed the barrel material as 41V50 chrome moly vanadium steel Radical Firearms website says 4140. So which is it? Also, what material is the receiver extension made out of?

I'd trust the specs shown on the manufacturers website; https://www.radicalfirearms.com/product-p/fr16-5.56soc-15rpr.htm...
If more info is needed, you could email them and ask; [email protected]
"41V50" shown on this page above must be a mistake. If you click the link above to go the product page on PA's website you'll see; "16" 4140 chrome moly vanadium steel SOCOM barrel" in the description https://www.primaryarms.com/radical-firearms-ar15-16-556-carbine-15-m-lok-rpr-rail...

Is this chambered for 223 too? One area in the description says that and others do not.

0 votes
0 votes

Anything that's chambered in 5.56 can also shoot .223 (a little less accurate than a dedicated. 223 or 223 wyld). A dedicated 223 cannot shoot 5.56. But a 223 wyld shoots both 556 and 223 with the same accuracy (theoretically).

Lots of positive comments. They must have improved. Radical was pretty shoddy when they started. But I support Texas and USA so...go for it (I guess). If Primary Arms picked them up I guess they got better.

Not legally. In the configuration it is being offered in, it is not CA compliant. If I was in your shoes I'd deal with a gun seller/dealer/supplier who is located in CA. In today's market, these deals aren't bad:
https://www.ocguns.com/product/sw-mp15-sport-ii-ca/...
https://www.ocguns.com/product/ruger-ar-556-featureless-stock-ca/...
These are good options if you don't mind spending more $$$:
https://wbtguns.com/rifles/stag-arms-stag-15-tactical-california-legal-223-5-56/...
https://www.springfield-armory.com/saint-series/saint-victor-ar-15-rifles/saint-victor-556-ar-15-rifle-ca-compliant/...
There are other ready-built CA compliant AR15s available. You could contact one of the CA dealers linked above or any other reputable LGS and see what they have available or can get in for you. Good luck!

How would you say it is compared to a S&W M&P2? This looks like it's better out of the box and also a better price point at the moment but the Smith has its name and bigger company backing. Wondering what your choice would be between the two?

That is a question that you, and many others would like answered. For me the lower price, and added features on this Radical Arms model, make it the clear winner. It has a free floating barrel that promotes more consistent barrel harmonics, which produces more consistent accuracy. The mid-length gas system produces less stress, and smoother cycling for the bolt (reduced impulse) due to the lower psi at the gas port. The 15" M-LOK handguard gives you the ability to easily add, and remove accessories in multiple places around the axis of the barrel. It also renders a longer sight plane than the Sport ll. The B5 Systems Bravo stock, and grip have earned the respect of many AR shooters for their quality, comfort, and ergonomic excellence, and are easily superior to those on the Sport ll.
Both of these rifles should serve you well. I hope my comments have been helpful.

If it cycles reliably and shoots at atleast 2-3 MOA then it might be the best budget AR for the money. It looks great too, good choice of AR furniture.

If price is an issue, the Radical is an easy choice. If you are looking at spending $750+, you can't go wrong with the S&W warranty and customer service. The problem is that the S&W rifles are going for $750+ right now and you get the crappiest furniture. If you don't care about adding accessories or how it looks, then that's not a problem. If you eventually think you'll upgrade the handguard, and maybe the stock and grip, all of the sudden your $750 S&W is turned in to a $1000+ S&W, so you have to wonder what else you could get for $1000+.

M&P15 doesn’t touch this rifle. Even the highest-end Smith & Wesson M&P15 I have doesn’t compare.

Good answer. For $1000, you are in Covid-priced Ruger MPR range. Has the upgraded everything.

Its simply about your budget as others have said. Radical makes a good starter rifle that is perfectly for home defense, range time or hunting. Would I choose a Radical rifle over a S&W if I was going into battle?, most likely not. However for the average joe who is on a budget the Radical rifle here is a good choice. It is made with the same materials as any of the other off the shelf AR's. In fact it is most likely the upper and possibly the lower are manufactured at the same facilities as S&W and other more expensive AR's. Most folks do not know that their are only a handful of upper and lower forging manufactures that supply the
"mass produced"AR industry. Yes there are smaller custom forges, I am simply speaking about these high volume manufacturers
You can tell by looking for the forging marks on the upper and lower. Most common ones are:
*CERRO- "Keyhole design"
*Mueller ent."A diamond"
*BSAF- "A square"
And then some simply use letters.
As I said there are alot of smaller forges but all the big name, high production rifles use mostly the high production forges that can keep up with demand.
Like Colt and and DPMS use
Cerro uppers for alot of their off the self rifles.
This is just a couple examples and Im sure if one dug hard enough you could find more but in general this happens alot. A majority of the price is soley what brand stamp is on the rifle. Not the sum of the parts. So thats why in my OPINION the Radical rifle is the best choice. During these times of ridiculous "panic buying" this deal is a good one for sure. Good luck, Hope this helps you decide.
PS, the person who down voted this deal is a tool... if these rifles "exploded" as he states their certainly would be all sorts of lawsuits, media coverage, liberal puke, etc... Maybe there was an incident or two. in the beggining of some bad product but I certainly would not believe this is a problem beyond that. The troll is most likely jumping on a single incident bandwagon story.... any company that would have the issues on a mass scale would be bankrupt immediately. Most likely an incident occured when some inexperienced jackass tried to build his own rifle and either used incorrect or inferior, cheap parts from china or didnt check the tolerances after assembly, etc. Almost always the type issues where someone claims incidents such as exploding rifles is because someone didnt have a clue on what they were doing and shouldnt have used crappy parts mixed with ignorance.
So dont believe what hes/shes saying.. its all hearsay.

Radical makes their parts in house. I cant imagine formulating a response that lengthy with so little pertinent information.

0 votes
2 votes

Radical does not "make"they all their parts in house. They do not forge their raw uppers or lowers. They currently use Cerro forge raw receivers. As far as your comment about "not being able to formulate a response, so lengthy with so little information" says it all about you. That comment says you are not intelligent or capable of creating a lengthy and articulate response. So before you judge others or try to belittle someone for writing their thoughts, their experience and or opinions, look into the mirror and see who is truly the dumb one.... with that said, to each their own and I do not concern myself with your opinion any further. Good day!

Even though these are a few dollars more than fairly recent prices, with all the political and economical BS happening, all the panic buying and price gouging, this os a great buy. Radical arms are a good basic entry level rifles and pistols. I would buy these over any of the equally priced "polymer" rifles on the market. Not too many aluminum upper and lower rifles to be had right now under $600. Reviews are quite mixed but thats to be expected with alot of small companies selling entry level firearms. It is like asking whats better, A Chevy, Ford or Dodge... your gonna get fanatics and completely mixed and divided opinions and reviews. My experience has been positive with the one Radical arms rifle I own. It is reliable and built well. The upper and lower is a solid fit with no slop, it shoots about everything I feed it, although I have had light strike problems with russian made steel cased ammo. I swapped the firing pin with a wolf kit and it made a difference for sure. Other than a couple cosmetic changes such as a MFT minimalist stock and grip its good to go. I figured I best say that I have 11 AR rifles of various calibers, makes and models so I do have plenty to compare with as well as experience with these companies and products.
