Specs
Machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, the AX556 is a fully ambidextrous lower receiver for AR15-style firearms. In addition to the Talon Ambidextrous Safety Selector, left-side magazine release, and right-side bolt release, the AX556 features the patented A-DAC (Ambidextrous Dual Action Control), which allows right-handed shooters to easily lock the bolt to the rear without taking their hand off fire control. To hold the bolt back using the A-DAC, simply pull the charging handle to the rear, depress the right-side magazine release button, then release the charging handle. Other features and specifications include:
- Billet machined 7075-T6 aluminum construction w/ integral trigger guard and flared magazine well
- MILSPEC Type III hard anodized w/ Radian Black Cerakote finish
- SART (Self-Adjusting Receiver Tensioner) spring-loaded plunger to reduce upper/lower wobble
- Radian Talon 45/90 Ambidextrous Safety Selectors (long/short)
- Enhanced Takedown Pin Set
- All proprietary hardware included (enhanced bolt catch, left-side magazine release paddle, right-side magazine release button, right-side bolt release paddle)

nice item, but heavily overpriced. sure it has addons already in it, but all of the addons are also heavily overpriced. 200 bucks as is would still be reaching. but hey dumbasses with too much cash go for it :)

Comparing this against a $40 budget lower is not reasonable. Many people have started with a $40 lower and still spent almost this price building the lower. Sure not everyone needs or wants a premium lower but if you do, this is a good option. To be fair this is not a $40 forged lower but lets instead compare to a a $200 premium billet lower. Add $60 for ambi safety selector, $50 for a phase 5 ambi bolt release which is still not as nice as this integrated option. A Norgon ambi mag release is $80. Enhanced take down and pivot pins would cost $25 to $30. You start adding things up and for those people who would already chose those upgrades, this is a great option with those features already integrated.

If you want the cheapest possible look somewhere else but don't be fooled into thinking there is no market for this type of lower. I have many lowers ranging from the $40 basic forged to other fully integrated and ambidextrous billet lowers such as this one, and I have never regretted paying more for a better and more enjoyable to use product.

I can buy a complete AR 15 rifle with that amount.

What makes this worth near $400? Absolutely nothing! Take $40 buy an Anderson or PSA lower and invest the leftover $300 into ammo or something else towards building the rifle. This price is just nuts though period.

I get that it's expensive, but it is a complete lower receiver with all parts except for the trigger group. If you add up the cost of Radian's best ambi selector, best takedown and pivot pins, ambi mag release, and the ADAC system (instead of a BAD lever or Phase 5 doohicky) it's not a bad price for arguably one of the nicest lowers out there. I get that an Anderson rifle will also go bang every time you pull the trigger, but these high spec billet lowers just feel so good in hand and are smooth as silk.

Radian puts out some really nice stuff. I wish I could afford one of their rifles. This is a good option if you don't have 2k to burning a hole in your pocket.
