What sucks is that the new Barnaul steel case 300blk that was introduced last spring was only $11.99 per box and now it is the same price as brass 300blk. I only bought 100 rounds of it to try it out in my AR pistol and now I'm kicking myself for not buying more.

The .300 BLK round seems much better suited to shorter barrel lengths than .223, however the difference in ammo price is considerable.

True. I'll add that 300 Blackout is much better shooting with a supressor as it can me loaded to be subsonic, unlike the 5.56.
I like this pistol format and built one. I reload, so don't get impacted quite as hard by the more spendy ammo.

I saw one of their 300 AAC pistol kits for $299.99 yesterday. At that rate, I'll be building one soon. I would guess ammo price will only go down as popularity increases. I do generally prefer the heavier grain ammo, especially for personal defense, although I find it unlikely that I would be using an AR Pistol for that purpose. For me it would essentially be a range weapon only, or perhaps home defense if there's a safe way to do that with this caliber.
