Why are AR-22 uppers so expensive? I'd love to get a dedicated upper but it just doesn't make sense when you buy the drop in BCG for less than half the price and be set. I know .22lr is rough on .223/5.56 barrels and gas systems, but you make up for that in ammo savings. These should be $250. I got my half decent 5.56 upper with BCG/CH for $240. This price is just bullshit.

Not just that, but the BCG's look like they aren't made to last, they look cheap as hell. Wonder who's bought these for the supposed normal price of $ 539.99?
