I just picked one of these up. I put a PSA "carry handle"
on it and a sb pistol lower. It makes a really fun shorty. Put 200 through it yesterday and worked perfectly. Took about 7 days to receive after I placed the order.

Had mine for about 4 months now and absolutely love it. Fit and finish are sharp. I have not ever had any excessive shipping times. Ive had roughly 15 items shipped from PSA, all within the two week range. Personally i do recommend this upper and this company to anyone. Good products, good pricing.

They always go back on sale again. Best thing about PSA is they have rotating sales that never end. I've got a fair number of AR15 systems and have had absolutely no issues with the company's products or services. It's been my experience and observation that the people badmouthing Palmetto State Armory either never served in the military or obtained all their so-called experience with them using mom & dad's credit cards. Don't let anyone discourage you from the PSA products. Mil-Spec is Mil-Spec.

I would have liked to purchase one but the lack of communication pertaining to wait times and quality control via this forum does not give me the confidence I need to commit to a purchase

QC is just fine. PSA sells an INCREDIBLE volume of AR parts. You're bound to get a few lemons. I've ordered no less than 8 uppers over the last year and wait times are NOT bad. If you expect shipping within 24 hours of order with 2-3 day shipping ...then yes... you'll be dissapointed. They take about 5 business days to ship, and it takes however long UPS ground takes to get to your part of the nation once it does. My latest upper arrives tomorrow via UPS, and like usual, about 5 days to ship, and 5 days to arrive via ups ground. Not that hard to predict

Sooo tempting at that price, but not worth the crap quality and quality control.

The problem with PSA is you never know how long it will take before it ships. For an extremely good deal I can wait. But what I find totally unacceptable is the time it takes to contact customer service to follow up on an order, get a presale question answered or resolve an issue with a product once it is received.

My personal experience is the average time on hold waiting to talk to a customer service rep is about 30 minutes. My calls have been dropped while on hold and my battery in my phone has gone dead waiting for someone to come online.

It has not been uncommon to spend an accumulation of a couple hours over several days before reaching a customer service rep. I was told today after waiting on hold for 35 minutes that being on hold for 30 minutes is a good day. Even though my order status has shown "shipped" for several days she still couldn't provide me a tracking number or even confirm where my order was. The whole call was a waste of time.

So in light of this I have decided not to order the upper and I don't plan on ordering from PSA again until such time I can place a call and talk to someone within 5 to 10 minutes. You see for a savings of no more than typically 10% is just isn't worth my time and the grief associated with that level of difficulty reaching customer service.

I have placed 8 orders with PSA in the last 2.5 years and have always received my orders, some taking longer than others. But in the same time frame I have attempted to place several dozen calls, mainly presales questions and if answered, I was ready to place an order right then. The 5 or 6 times I actually waited it out, I have never been able to reach anyone in less than 30 minutes. So most of he time after 10 or 15 minutes I simply hung up and bought whatever I was looking at somewhere else.

This is not for the PSA fan boys, or those that think the deals are so good we shouldn't complain. This is for those that never have bought from PSA and may have normal expectations when it comes to actually receiving the item and reaching customer service should the need arise.

I would suggest those with no previous experience with purchasing from PSA call their customer support number before ordering and see for yourself how long it takes for them to pick up. Now if you are ordering something like ammo and have no problem waiting and feel like..."oh well it will eventually arrive"...then it's no big deal.

But if you are ordering a LPK because it is a few bucks cheaper than ordering elsewhere...ask yourself if it arrives with a spring or pin missing, are you really going to want to spend 30 minutes or longer on hold just to get them to send out the missing parts? Wouldn't that negate the few dollars in savings?

There are those that will claim that has not been their experience or make excuses for their delayed shipping and long wait times on hold, claiming that is how they keep their costs down. That is nonsense, because for everyone that will wait, there are those that won't. That loss in business alone would easily have paid to increase their customer service reps to where they could cut down the wait time to under a few minutes and as such would actually increase their volume of business and profits.

It's too bad PSA doesn't see it that way, and never will as long as people continue to tolerate it. Obviously this is just my opinion, but I will chose to spend my money elsewhere until such time the status quo at PSA changes.

I will get of my soapbox now.

A flawless, inexpensive upper. Has been a joy for 1-2 years. Not a single FTF, or any other problem. Good accuracy (sorry no notes but at least 1.25-1.5moa @ 100 yards with various 55 & 62 grain loads).

anyone have one, and will it cycle steel?

outside of a .223 Wylde chambering (which is notoriously tighter), it's the bolt that will make or break cycling steal. That and figuring out which buffer which best with your ammo.

Got it a couple of weeks ago with a NIB BCG and charging handle, mainly because I needed the BCG, but took it to the range and it ran like a champ with both steel (Wolf) and brass. I was going to sell as just an upper without the BCG&charge handle, but now I think I will keep it.
