Description

The TAVOR® is a perfect fusion of an ordnance grade steel receiver coupled to a Mil-Spec cold hammer forged barrel and encased into a high-impact strength polymer uni-body with exceptional situational ergonomics. The ultra-compact form factor allows for easy transitions in close quarter situations…or even in your favorite deer blind. The bullpup design moves the center of gravity of the rifle closer to the users’ body allowing for more instinctive aiming and improved acquisition time to target. This innovative design also allows for a full length barrel, which means no loss of down range ballistic accuracy. Near and far range accuracy is enhanced by the minimized recoil provided by a non-lubricated long stroke gas piston system. With the exception of a hand-specific locking bolt, the rifle is completely ambidextrous allowing for easy left-hand conversion of the operating handle, ejection port, fire-control safety, sling swivel receptacles and fore-mounted accessory Picatinny rail. The TAVOR® is supplied with IDF-tested and approved magazines – but you can also use your own AR-15/M16 style magazines.
Rifle package comes with 1-30 round magazine, lock and cleaning kit.
At the end of the 1982 Israel-Lebanon War arose an understanding that the modern battlefield had changed. One of the conclusions from the war, particularly relevant to the small arms industry, was that the battle had moved from open field conflicts to close-quarters engagements – and there was a need for a seamless transition from daylight to nighttime capability on a single mission. Out of this understanding, and after more than a decade of collaboration and testing with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) - the TAVOR® rifle was born. Just as race car technology trickles down to consumer automobiles, so do these time and battle-tested firearms now become a modern sporting rifle platform for civilian gun enthusiasts.

This is a pretty good deal on a great gun. I am kind of new to this site, so is there something I am missing? I don't understand why so many down votes???

It is a decent deal. Probably getting down voted because a lot of AR guys dislike bullpups in general. People seem to vote on opinion of the item regardless of the deal.
Speaking of opinions, I have a Tavor and it is great. I did put a Tav-D trigger in it and now the trigger is improved, although I didn't find the stock trigger that bad. I have a black Tavor and would love to have one of the OD green ones. I believe there is a Sniper Gray color option coming too.

Probably getting voted down as this price / post is repeated daily. No anti-bullpup conspiracy here. Most users hate spam....plain and fucking simple.

Spam? lol wut? Here is the search results on this site for "tavor": https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/tavor?op=&sort=date&dir=desc...

The last time a Tavor showed up was 6 days ago, AND it was a different seller, AND it was about $30 more expensive, which shows that this is a better deal than the last time a Tavor was posted. Hardly spam. Looks like a Tavor deal is posted on average twice a week. Again, hardly "spam" that is "repeated daily".

thanks bro. i thought the spam comment was a bit ripe. I haphazardly scan this site for deals and this Tavor was hardly a repeat offender. yes $1599 was the last deal, so this is different. One thing some people forget is the markup on guns is often 10% or less, so a couple more percent off is a significant at least to me.

According to the "deal info" tab three vendors have this priced all within 20 dollars and two are only 4 bucks apart.

Seriously, are we suggesting gun.deals does not spam the same posts over and over again?!? I just did a search for “bump fire” and according to the results there have only been 5 posts in the last 5 MONTHS for that product. Yeah….that must be my imagination too.

It's nice to have several lower cost options. For example, sales tax reasons. And, while three vendors are all duking it out at the bottom of the price range, some of the other vendors want $1800 for this same rifle.... I'm on the fence about purchasing this, going to wait it out and see if there's any more bottom left. The buying fever is over...Time for price corrections.

I do agree, some of the repetitive deals are annoying, but that's one way gun.deals makes money. The vendors are paying a for this service. There are other gun deal websites out there, but when the users contribute deals and experiences in a civil manner, this site is pretty decent.

I'm in the same boat as you Bill.. Ive been watching these for awhile now and they always seem to haang around the $1585-$1599 point.

I agree but I wish Slick Guns would not pull user submitted deals and the repost the same bore snake, AR500, half mask thing, etc once per day. I have posted several deals which I have spent time to edit, include freight costs, good description, photos, only to have it disappear....do you think people like me are going to waste their time again when Sportsman Guide gets 30 posts per day for stuff that isn't a deal. Do not forget 3 dollar flashlights on Amazon shipping from China.

No offense but this item being within one percent out the door price at three vendors screams "retail."

disappearing posts is a big issue. I'm aware that SG prevents users from posting by making their posts but it looks like you've put up one deal, and by the sounds of it, more than one deal that disappeared. I don't work for gun.deals so, I don't know what the issues are but sounds to me like a real issue is with the posts. Contact them. They responded to an email or two way back in the past when I contacted them.

no offense taken on your opinion of this thread, but I'm tracking the price on these to see how low they go before I strike, trying to pick a bottom. A deal is a deal, regardless if it's only $5.00 less than the next guy. If I can save $5.00 for the same item and receive reasonable service, I'm going choose the option to save $5.00. I don't mind the posts or updates.

I do agree that lately, seems like 95% or more of the deals are paid posts or dealer posts. Very little organic posts.

1) the search feature on the site does not pick up (near as I can tell) posts that have changed position or bumped. Picks up duplicates only. 2) 30 dollars less?!? OMG, that is like 1.9 percent off and totally justifies a brand new post.

This just posted too. Bud's has the black Tavor for $1565 shipped - make an offer.
https://gun.deals/product/iwi-tsb16-tavor-sar-flattop-semi-auto-223-rem556-nato-165-1565-make-offer...

Have to remember there are 3 different colors out on this gun and a 9mm version, different deals on each one, so there will be more different deals pop up. It's kinda like the Colt 6920. Do a search for that and see all the posts for the tons of different models/colors/variations of that gun.

Same gun but a different color....in my mind does not warrant multiple posts. What next, 10 posts for tactical boots, one for each size available?

We will just have to disagree then. If one retailer's deal is for ONLY an FDE 16.5" Tavor, and another retailers has the OD green one for sale at the same prices, well that's two different deals then. When I bought my Tavor I did NOT want an FDE color and I did NOT want an 18" barrel. I had to wait on a deal for a 16.5" black Tavor. And funny you mention size. There are 16.5" barrel Tavors and 18" Tavors - two completely different models. So yeah, different posts for each size available.

If they are different vendors then yes they are not the same deal at all....agree 100 percent!

might be true but far less annoying than the endless "paid" sportsman's guide members only deals with coupon code. IF this ad is indeed updated daily, then it's another paid deal.

“Daily” might have been an exaggeration, maybe 3-4 times per week at or very close to this price point.

no clue, seems like a solid store (http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Firearms_For_Sale...), reasonable shipping ($12 uninsured, $31 insured). I'm thinking about pulling the trigger, so to speak, at these price levels.

I too have bought from them and the transaction went well. If I remember correctly their "in stock" gun was actually in stock at their VENDOR and required it to be shipped from the vendor to them then from FFS to my FFL causing a few day delay in receiving whatever boomstick of the week I bought.

I have purchased from them, and they seem pretty good. Great communication and good price, but their shipping is a bit slow (Not Palmetto slow)

Not a bad price, bought mine a few weeks ago from Lanbo's. Not sure if this price is comparable or if it just costs $200 more for a finish in FDE. Mine was black finish for $1,665 but I didn't have the option in FDE for comparison.

Not a bad price, and definitely better than they used to go for, but you can find them cheaper elsewhere.

Lanbos armory had them for $1665 a week ago.

Deal? Not really, but it is $70 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen it listed. That said, if you have $2K to spend, I am thinking $70 won't matter. :)

There will also be a 9mm conversion kit that you can purchase. Lending even further to this weapon's WOW factor.

Wow! When did this gun become legal in the states?

Since the barrel is 16" or more and the overall length 26" or more....
Sweet weapon, tried the FAMAS back ... oh... gee... that long ago?... anyway, great compact weapon yet very accurate, this one is supposed to be even better.
