$334.80, My opinion that’s expensive but prob. Gonna be cheaper then a tank of gas for your compact. 8-))

Same dudes that think the MRO is a good red dot, saying the gx4 is a trash gun...

I have one; bought it with the intention of it being a "glovebox" gun for the wife's SUV. I've got to say, it's a great sub-compact. Trigger has zero creep, and the ergos are fantastic, esp. if you have big hands but still want a pocket pistol with reliable function & accuracy.

Someone above already listed the many "Pros," I would say the only "Con" on the model I bought was the front sight. Mine didn't come with a tritium front so that got replaced the first week. I have 300 through it with 0 FTF/FTE though. A little "snappy" but to be expected in most SCs.

In my collection I have everything from Sig AXGs to the PT111. 3 Taurus's total (Tracker .44, PT111 & GX4) - this one is my favorite & I like it as much, if not more than some higher dollar brand pistols. While it isn't my personal EDC, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone over an LCP, etc. Personal preference, obv. but it is one of Taurus's better builds & extremely good for it's intended purpose, ime.

Someone I know had his truck broken in and the Glock he had as his truck gun stolen. This is all I have to say about truck and glovebox guns.

Anyone else see the similarities to the 365 in the slide?

Save your money and buy a shield if you're looking for something that will be reliable and not break the bank. Lots of better options out there for similar money. Seen too many Taurus failures. Even a judge jammed up so bad my buddy had to take it to a gunsmith to get the cylinder open.

I have both guns taurus and shield and is not diference between those 2.I actually prefer the taurus because is thiner for CC and so far no malfunctions in 5 years..

I have a Shield and just got one of these GX4's at my local BiMart for $298. I've only put 120 rounds through it but from my perspective this gun is on par with the shield quality. Nitrided slide, DLC barrel, metal guide rod, flat trigger and a stout stainless steel chassis. I would buy a Shield plus, but they're going for the same price as a P365, is bigger and does not come with night sights. If the Shield to drop to the 350 range, I would see your point, but not at what they're selling them for.

Taurus makes about 50% of their guns well. The other 50% are garbage. They have horrible quality control and anyone with half a brain would spend another $50 and get a better pistol. Or you can play the lottery and deal with their horrible warranty service. Ask me from experience, I'm not alone either.

There were massive failures with the P365 when it first released, It's why I waited for the gen 3 to get mine. There were issues with the P365XL which made me wait a while until I got mine. I also have a Hellcat that the front sight fell off while shooting it. And years ago I had a Shield gen 1 that would not go into battery. I have 2 P320 Compacts that I turned into X-Compacts, the P320 had the issue of firing when bumped just right, all of mine have the factory updates to solve the issue. ALL company's have their issues. For $298, A Taurus the size of a P365 that holds 11 rounds and has the list of improvements over the g2 and g3 series I'll take a chance on. This is the first Taurus I was willing to spend money on.

Just an update on my GX4, at around the 300 round mark I had a couple of failure to extract. I took it out yesterday and put another 100 through it and had 6 fail to extract. I used their chat box on their web site, contacted customer service immediately and they sent a return label. It's already on it's way to them. I'll update how it goes.

Taurus received it on the 16th. I got it back today, the 26th. The paper in it said they shot 33 rounds of winchester white box and gun has no issues. Not exactly a very thorough look at it. It also stated my issue was the ejector which is not what I told them. It's the extraction. I'm going to take it out tomorrow and put some federal and sellier and bellot through it. Some aluminum too. If I get another fail to extract I'll contact them again. Was going to buy another one, now I think I'll buy a 2nd Hellcat instead.

Sounds like a ammo problem

Even though that sounds less than ideal, I hope it cycles great for you today.

Maybe they did replace the extractor and didn't list it on the form, just got back, shot 165 rounds and all were flawless. Confidence restored in the pistol.

That's great, Chief. Yeah, I was kinda suspecting and for sure hoping they had done something to it but just didn't mention it. And I'd be satisfied with the turn-around time as well. Thanks for the updates.

I am a fan of Taurus line of their inexpensive handguns like the most popular PT111 G2 that often can be had in the $200 price range. The PT111 has been the gun to challenge and honestly beat Hi Points monstrosity 9mm pistols. For $200 it cant be beat. Owned many in my life and the only issues I had was the trigger sucked. But for someone needing protection on a budget it was number one! However on this new version,
I cannot see paying almost double that for this pistol. Too many higher quality handguns for same money. I dont think this model is really anything different over the G2 or G3 other than some. cosmetic changes. I do not know this for fact as I am yet to handle one of these but if history follows the same path then I doubt Taurus did anything revolutionary with this gun over the other older models. Maybe I wrong?

It's smaller
Holds more rounds.
Zero creep on the trigger
Feels great in the hand
Over $200 less than the p365

I agree with all but "holds more rounds" actually the previous model PT111 G2 9mm holds 12+1. This holds 10+1? I do see there is a slight size difference but I agree the triggers obviously are different, at least cosmetically speaking. I haven't shot this model so I can't speak on terms of feel. I am not disagreeing with any of you who are coming at me. I was simply wanting to know if this newer model was worth the price increase. Also if anyone actually owns both to compare. I am not being disrespectful towards anyone's opinion.

Yea ur definitely wrong bro lol. It's an entirely different pistol and category then the G2/G3 series.

I can't comment on price but this is definitely a smaller pistol than the Millennium G2, G2C or G3C. Size wise it's more on par with the the likes of the SIG P365XL, Springfield Hellcat or Ruger Max-9.
