Mfr Part: HC9319B

After years of development, we are proud to introduce the Hellcat, the highest capacity micro compact 9mm in the world and the next generation of defensive pistol from Springfield Armory. The 3" barreled micro compact pistol features a class leading capacity of 11+1 with its patented magazine — 13+1 with the included extended mag — and is the result of years of painstaking development and engineering in addition to intensive collaboration with top engineers, shooters and self defense experts.

The Hellcat is offered in two models, the standard with the fixed U-Dot™ sight system and an OSP model ready to accept red dot sights. The Hellcat OSP features a removable seamless cover plate that allows direct mounting of a micro red dot to the slide for the lowest possible profile that co-witnesses the U-Dot sight system included on both pistols.
MPN#: HC9319B

The Springfield Hellcat is in our list for best concealed carry guns 2020.

ahhhh, Hellcat, to hide the fact that springfield is still importing the same shitty croatian XDS guns, just not using the XDS name in doing so.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the Croatian made XD's. They've been around for decades and have an track record of reliably.

Cabela's fort worth had them in stock 1/9 and price match Brownells but it appeared that Brownells wasn't going to charge sales tax??? Canceled order so don't know for sure.

It's funny to read any comment about the XD and similar polymer SA handguns being unreliable. They are without a doubt the most reliable brand I've ever owned. The people saying this are usually 1911 codgers whose guns stovepipe every other round. They rationalize it by picking on a gun that's not made in America. We all see it, over and over. And that's why I am no part of any 1911 forum, even though I own 4. The people are bat crazy.

I grabbed the OSP today from Grabagun for a little more. Still says in-stock!

Saying this is the highest capacity 3"barrel is incorrect. Taurus pt111 g2 has had 12+1 for years without an extended mag. Just saying....I do like the looks of this pistol.

Saying this is the highest capacity 3” barrel is correct. Taurus pt111 G2 is actually 3.2”. Also it’s stupid to compare a micro-compact to a subcompact gun. But since we wanna do that, here are the specs for both guns.
*PT-111 G2: barrel 3.2, height 5.1, length 6.24, width 1.1, weight 22oz
*Hellcat: barrel 3, height 4(flush)/4.5(extended), length 6in, width 1, weight 18.03(flush)/18.06(extended)

Yes you are correct. I made a mistake. Unlike most who will argue to their grave, I'm man enough to admit I was wrong. Just can't figure out how to delete my comment. Haha sorry folks

I’m curious, Have anyone on here Pre-ordered and still on the waiting list since October 2019?

1 vote

My guess is that it’s worth the wait for such great price Brownells’ offered. I have faints in getting it before Valentine Day. :)

Another pre-order and still waiting for the OSP version. When I contacted customer service, I was told they just didn't know when it would be filled.

1 vote
0 votes

Yep, on the wait list for the osp model. Was told the 1st week of November via customer support chat that all pre orders would be fulfilled by 3rd week of December.

It’s a first-in-first out so if you’re say the 51st pre-order, you’d have to wait until they fill the ones before you. Unfortunately, their distributor most likely will not be shipping them ALL their preorders at once because distributors will allocate to other FFLs too. So if only 5 units arrive, I pretty sure they will only use 4 to fill preorders and use 1 for the store.

The CSA told this to me when I was asking about timing. They have no idea when the units will show up nor do they know how many will show up. This was the reason why I canceled my preorder and went to my LGS who gets 2 to 3 units regularly. They just had 4 ‘distributor editions’ of the OSP with the Shield RMRc come into the shop and pricing is actually very similar to Brownells price + transfer fee you pay to your FFL. Brownells pre-order is BUNK...it’s like a repeat of their P365 preorder fiasco a while back.

It’s claim to fame is the high capacity it has for such a small gun. Other that that, same. Time will tell if quality is there but I like the little thing. Can’t really go wrong with that many rounds for a sub compact

Thanks for the input. My taurus g2 can take 12 rounds and cost way less than half that price on hellcat. And I got two for less than one hellcat!

1 vote
4 votes

Agreed, don't listen to the Taurus hating fanboys...since the rebirth if taurus and it's manufacturing processes, quality control and management changes Taurus pistols are fine budget friendly conceal carry pistols. I've owned and shot several. By others stating your comparing a larger pistol to this one listed shows they know nothing about the pt111 g2. It is the same size as the micro compact Smith and Wesson Shield. The g2 is a micro sub as well. So yes I agree Springfield is being misleading.

1 vote

I'm glad you're pleased with your G2, but it is significantly larger than the gun you're comparing it to. It is also a Taurus, so yes, it is cheaper. The Hellcat is for people that can pay extra for something easier to carry every day and comes from a more reputable manufacturer.

Not to add a significant reduction to your point (as you're not incorrect that Springfield > Taurus in the general consensus), but some would say that Springfield's reputation as a "reputable manufacturer" is questionable due to all the political issues. IIRC, Taurus hasn't been caught up with all that. To your point, I would say that Springfield's reputation as a manufacturer of RELIABLE firearms is likely stronger than Taurus. The G2C and G3, however, have somewhat challenged that position.

G2C or even G2S are no comparison to the Hellcat, though. Two totally different levels of firearms.

Yeah that’s bs. They should just be straight up and add $10 to the displayed price.

OMG, move on. Ever heard of forgiveness? The owner made a very DUMB mistake and paid for it dearly. I felt the same but I then realize that AMERICANS work for SA in the US. You're only hurting AMERICAN workers. Remember, the OWNER, not the workers did that idiotic move.

Wonder how you would feel if their plan worked.
Only reason they changed is they got caught. Feel free to support a traitor, it's your cash in a free country. Keep supporting the the wrong side and we'll see how that turns out for everyone.

Canceled my preorder for a standard Hellcat with Brownells earlier this week and ended up purchasing the OSP model from my LGS today. Yup, I paid exactly $21 more than Brownells pre-tax price. I'm betting the OSP preorder folks won't see theirs until after the new year.

Saw the many gun mag reviews. It just looks like a typical double stack to me. Have you seen the width of the magazines? And your finger hangs off the bottom like an old G26.
